Just got back from Ireland, I only managed a little bit of fishing as I was looking after my ill father-in-law and he could not manage a day out on a boat. Got no fishy pics sadly as all I managed to do was donate 50 Euro of spinners to the Irish Sea.
Any folks out there like sea fishing this place is the nuts, plenty of charter boats in the harbour and there are cod, pollack, mackies, bass, turbot, you name it its there.
Its a lovely spot with a nice restaurant, hotel and friendly locals. Hotel is about 60 Euro a night. It is a very small quiet place and would be perfect for a group of 4 - 10 to go for a few days boat fishing. I saw some of the lads coming back with boxes upon boxes of fish that can be filleted and frozen at the hotel.
We then moved up to a place called Laragh which is in Co. Wicklow, a lovely spot with a nice river full of brown trout. Sadly, 2 bottles of wine and 9 bloody Mary's meant I was unable to get my act together and no fishing took place, but whilst drunk I imagined a fight with a massive brown trout which I won of course.
I will post some pics later of the views of the harbour, mountains, rivers etc.
Sorry this post is lacking in the fishing dept. but I think it should live here, Kilmore Quay is one cracking sea fishing spot both for boat and shore.
Tight lines.
