Im in the market for buying an ozone generator but I want to no what my requirements are first so Im after a bit of advice.

The room is approx 12m squared (4m x 4m) in total (it isnt all plants) and has 8 full size plants in... What sort of ozone output do I need, preferably in m3/h? Also, any other advice on positioning etc is greatly appreciated!

Cheers

E2A : Im not on about an inline one that goes in the ducting. Im on about the wall mountable ones that go on ebay for around 60£

Ozone is incredibly toxic in ridiculously small amounts. All ozone generators for rooms that i have seen advise/demand that you leave a room while it is in use. It can dissolve organic tissue (like your lungs if breathed, or plant tissue) as well as inorganic materials (like plastic).

Might be useful for treating a room prior to putting plants in, but while you are growing, I would say it is fool hardy at best. yes.gif

Why do you want to use Ozone?

It rears it's head once in a while. I think it's from folks trying to find a cheaper/easier alternative to using ducting and a cf.

Don't use Ozone in your grow room if you can help it, not even in your house. One exception Ozone Aeration if you're runnin a reasonably sized tank (150+ Litres) with a recirculating system, used instead of Oxy it keeps your NFT of Flood & Drain tank clean and free of any nasties. (will also kill "nice" bacteria, I say go for it, kill em all, let God sort 'em out!) and be careful not to go stickin your head in the tank and go sniffing about in there when it's running!

Instead look at negative ion fountains, generators & HEPA filter air purifiers for any stray smells that escape into your living area, they do work surprisingly well, more importantly they're 100% safe, cheap to run and won't dissolve your lung tissue. However be warned, there's an awful lot of crap out there being sold so do a little homework before you buy, talk to your grow shop they will be able to steer you towards the better models out there.

Hmm 4x4 meters grow room, lovely to have so much space to play with.
