linear should be finished now they were just startin when i was there about 3 weeks ago

thanks to the both of you, ive been watching linears website but havent been get any info on activity at orchid and want to hit that over linear, linears being a second option if too much crashing and chasing on the top at orchid. will update session report when back. Landing there either tues or weds for a 72hr and target of couple of mid twenties (1st session since oct 08) and want a couple of runs/screams/ego trips before hitting local club waters.
Plan of attack, 3 rods, 1 on zig ( fake corn/trimmed cotswold flouro), 1 on esp large pva bag with either richworth kg1 snowman with multi size kg1 pellets or snowman mainline cell with multisized cell pellets, last rod on a spodded area single boilie hookbait. gonna have a rod prepped up with method feeder and critical balance corn if chasing with the zig proves fruitless. and oh smokes for the trip consist of blu bonic, HDF, shiva, 2 genes of cheese and a lil bit of nep charras for daytime

cheers jiffa, horses for courses isnt it, got to say, when fishing slack lines i really dont feel confident and only tend to stick to short hooklinks even if using running rigs, depends what venue im at as to if i go tight or slack.

i mostly use short hooklengths to mate but feel total confidence with slack lines knowing everything is lying flat , but yeah different strokes for different folks for sure

jiffa out of curiosity when slack lining are you using captive or flying back leads? leadcore leaders? i tend to go with the korda flying backleads with esp leadcore, cast out everything tight and then ease the line off from the spool. yeah ill post pics, tho it will be only bbq shots if it turns out a blank sesh ( had a bad

well back from the session/social, a blank i may add, a few knocks but take the rough with the smooth. ended up on st johns at linears on the opposite bank to the road in the shallows. fished 3 rods varioius tactics/ bait zigs, method feeder, boilies, fake corn, single baits, stick mixes, small and large pva, stringers, spodded beds of bait but alas no luck. will be back there mid sept hopefully. Didnt see much come out other than one upper 20 mirror. My first time on st but will be back. Time to hit clubwaters for a few times in between to get my accuracy sorted on casting, was embarrassed it was that bad, tho it has been 8 months!

i found st jhons to be to pressured same with all the linear complex really , better look next time mate

vey true jiffa, the complex is always mobbed, when i pulled onto st johns it wasnt as bad as i had expected, chose the far bank as there was a fresh wind due to hit that the following day and also there were less anglers on that bank. overall a good lake, just need to hit it mid week, ideally for a week, ive got my eye on preferential swims for next time. steered clear off orchid due to negative comments to bailiff and got to say the linear boys always try whenever ive been there. This time halfway through loading the porter up pulls a bailiff, offering to drop me to my swim with my gear, top bloke!!
