Good news my largest "shelfed cutting" has put out a root shoot, about 10mm long.
So now I know its possible for me to get cuttings to root after donor plant has started to flower.
Looking at some of the cuttngs in the veg cab (about half of the cuttings) they have fluffy fungus like stuff at the cut tips under the water,
next year when I take the cuttings from the mum for the clones I'm going to have to take care to use a serialized blade.

hi satta, sticky
I know I should be using serialized blades but I'm sort of doing things badly a bit on purpose this year.
The idea being that when I use serialized blades and also for that matter extra fertilizer's, home made pots. <<--(

. V bad new 4 me), ect
I get to see the results and can make comparisons, as a test to see whats worth doing and whats not worth doing
All of the cuttings which have grown that fluffy gel like fungus have died on me, only the cuttings where the steam remains "Clean" & water clear have put out root shoots.
btw whats a good rooting powder/gel to use ?

hey Mr_cocofibrelover thats for popping in .....
I'm thinking its something to do with whats naturally on the plant or in the water
1 reacting to the light on the water or
2 may be the temp of water or
3 possibly contamination from the blade I used to trim the end of the cutting.
Because I'm not using any products, I just have the cuttings in water.
Its weird stuff any way

FECK!!!! Just learned an important lesson today ...
Cats and plant pots don't mix well, had my latest two cuttings potted and getting some
sun b4 I introduced them to the Veg cab, when the stupid cat launched its self at the closed window
Plants, dirt, pots and cats every where (I had another cat chilling on sofa) ! Scooped up plants & muck but have got some rot damage

Hey cumulus
So pretty wet weather since weekend so I've only now had a chance to get some photos
but I'm thinking a good splash of rain now will help fill the buds out.
Alls ticking along nicely on my plot so nothing much to report
buds growing steadily & plants healthy.
I'm just wondering how big I should expect the buds to grow too?

I'm looking at may be 3/4 weeks to harvest , man this bit is really the worst as fas as waitings concerned - really the hardest...
Gave my ladies some general fruit-tomato fert this week, I will give a feed each week now till harvest unless plants say other wise.
Weathers been really great had a few days wet & stormy and now the suns back with the temp up in the top 30's again.
So only one group pic and the rest of buds and steams.

so another week has passed, noticing some browing on the bud on the med sized plant.
I've opened up some more of the tree canopy because now the sun is lower in the sky
it was missing my opening that I made earlyer in the year.
Feeding once a week, will up now to 2 times a week.

Hopefully net2-3 the weather will hold as I guess I've about 2 weeks to go at most and
we are still getting lots of sun and temperatures of around 30oC
Jabhut, so pleased you have been with me from the start. If I do this again next year I will try to get my
plants in the ground a lot sooner, apart from that I dont think I want to change a thing.
So good luck for your own grow and hopefully we will have your diary to read in 2010.

I've been keeping a very close eye on my ladies this week and its looking like
I have only a few days left now until I give them the chop.
I'm looking at Nearly 100 % milky Trichromes and a few amber,
I want some more to go amber then its CHOP CHOP

Time
I've brought a couple of buds in to look closer at them during the week and then of course smoked em,
the delight as I drew on my pipe that rich tasty smoke was 2nd to none and produced a buzzy energetic hit
As I'm fairly sure next set of photos will be of my bud drying I've indulged myself with extra pics now.
1st up the ladies in question

hi net2-3 thanks for note of concern..
I'm chopping when I get to about 80% dark pistils or 10% amber Trichromes, not there yet but should be in a few days at most.
Still I pull a small bud off last night and had a coupe of pipes off it ,
