Hi all, I dont post much, yet.

But heres one I have to make.

Last November I brought a slightly larger new Tent, to replace my tired old B.. ..x, which ive had over three years use out of, and with great results all round, no probs at all...

So I purchased, a 2m square cube one, not a b.. ..x, as that size was then unavailable off the shelf, and I needed one quicklyish. so i brought a known brand, no names yet....

Anyhows to cut a long story short, in that time, I managed to grow nothing, zilch, 0 at all, for longer than three weeks, !!!!.

I tried, oh how, I tried, using soil, nft, pots, with slow deaths, some quite quick, all with odd syptoms, and none consistantly the same, strange growth, twisting leaves, blotches, yellowing in parts, dark in others, WTF...is going on...

This went on over xmas, new year, untill the end of Feb. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have i overlooked the obviose, treble check everything, cant find anything wrong, at all..

I also prop, and veg, within the same space, no probs there, so errmmmmmm..

Then in desperation got my freind involved, he taught me how to grow, so hes quite knoledgable, at this point im baffled, truly mystified, .

we put in two 424 tanks, with six plants each, under two 400w lamps, two weeks later all dead, shittttt.

So we stripped it down, cleaned it out, put it up, from the start again, one tank 424 size with six plants, and only 1 x 400w lamp .

With in a week and half, only got 2 left, just, they made four more days, RIP{.

Now my mates freaked a bit too, cause hes unsure, as to whats going so wrong,

especially with the ones that look like they been burnt badly in parts, by a lamp, bearing in mind its only 400w fixed at 1.8m from the floor.... ???????

next up, we try, 2 in soil, from his place, and I bring in six marigolds, !!!!!!!!!! in pots, alien to my space, so their all good.......to go...... mostly they slowly made 8 days, before all dead, disaster....

by now, we are both, completely expongerated!!!!!....... in a drastic moment of something, we take the tent down, bag it up, and put it in the hallway..... for later. or something... whatever,,,,, im cursed..... Doomed..

One last go, as now im giving up.. 1, 424 nft tank, 1 x 400w lamp, in the same area as before, but with no tent,
I jerry rig the fan and filter, drop in three babys, go away for three days...

.. god only knows what im going to find, when we get back,..

I dont care now..... after building up to it, I goes in, ... well im buggered, theve all grown, very well in fact, considering.

now alls back to normalish, 3x400ws , and two complete grows, Horah.

No tent as yet, still waiting to hear from the makers, TBA.... We dont expect much of a response, not had one as yet, ill keep you posted as and when. Inc what they say......

Idealy, should have put the tent back up, again, and tried it, just to be sure....oh well. Live and learn.

I had to do some research and digging, now were convinced its the tent, how, why, no idea......wots going on.


We found a couple of rumors of tents of doom, not a lot, and no company names mentioned.

And a few emails to the guys at H.........x, verified this, the tent id bought, (not a H........x). was gassing off from the material it was made from PVC ,,,,,,,,,. poisining everything slowly but surely, Maybe us too.. oops.

Any comments, or similar results, wed like to hear...... Is it ok to mention manufacturers, Admin..

I'm not admin but mentioning manufacturers names in product reviews is way okay.

I'm using a bunch of tents. I'm using Grolabs which are made by HomeBox for Everest. So far nothing but great results with vegging, mums and clones.

shit sounds bad mate! glad your back on board and growing again. im sure its the same with lino on your grow room floor it can give off bad gases when heated. was thinking of getting a homebox so do you think yours was a fake one? hope so because thats what i was planning on buying.

there were some dodgy tents a while back that let off fumes from the lining and killed plants

cant remember what make they were though. but i seem to remember they were made in china

Wasn't a hydrogarden one by any chance??? Just binned on for the same reason.

Im afraid so, its a HYDROGARDEN 2M CUBE ONE WITH SILVER LINING, doesnt smell though, ive taken it back to shop, waiting to hear, might not get a credit even, Grrrrrrrr

It's the composition of the tent alright,the same thing happened to a friend of mine.

Linoleum is natural product with a large quantity of linseed oil used in its manufacture.. it does produce gas (Linseed vapour ) which some people are sensitive to. I doubt if it will kill your plants.... Vinyl floorcoverings on the other hand off-gass all the usual bollox

yes mate i have heard of tents that kill plants it is some type of toxin that the material gives off i have a bb and i have had no probs good luck regards kk
