been having a nightmare with mine, been fine for a year or so but have had a total system disaster, faulty brain and float valve has caused the system to carry on flooding which in turn has resulted in my house being flooded, just glad i was in when this has occured, now having to sit on the system during flood times now with 4 weeks to go,comprimised yield,i would not reccomend this system to anyone its flawed in my experience.never experienced anything like this with the aeroflo,so imho its not worh the trouble it brings, there are better alternatives out there.last thing anyone needs is a flood in the growroom with all the electrics etc 350 ltrs of nutrient water flooding your home is not good

That sucks SOG, but thanks for sharing. It always worries me when the res is above the plants just for that reason, but was hoping IWS had it covered - guess not. Too much money to take a punt on. Thanks....and good luck with the rest of your grow.

You could repot them into coco.....far from ideal but I've rescued failed hydro and aero experiments before by repotting into coco.

no worries man, thought about potting up into soil or coco but have decided to become a hermit for the nxt 4 weeks and see it through, will be starting an organic grow in the nxt 10-14 days
thanks for the advice

I've had a 48 site IWS dripper system for a about a year now, and I've been growing for over 10 years this is what I think.
When I bought this system it was for a newbie to run so I wanted it easy to run, and tidy, the IWS looked nice, simple, and above all low, I wanted a system that sat on the floor cos the roof is low, So with no expense spared I bought this IWS dripper system, I looked at the ebb and flow system and I didn't want that much water moving around due to flooding issues mentioned in the above post. Run ta waste, job done, or not!
There has been alot of swearing over the past year, The idea was set it up, about 3 months teaching, then the newbie runs it with me just popping in. No chance, I've had issues with most of it from water standing in the pots to dippers dripping to fast (no valve to slow pressure). My biggest issue is the inability to check the runoff as pots are linked together and go to the brains unit, so individually testing pots is very difficult without some sort of modification ie my runoff at the mo is 28, but if I test individual pots ( lifting the plants, not good ) I can have some reading 16 and some 24.

Top tips.
Pumps rubbish.
Pump Timer is rubbish (Digital timer is less than £10)
High pressure to low pressure spiders take up to much room and get under your feet
Tanks not big enough.
Pots too big.
Brains unit is a pure waste of money (can be made for about £20 + pump).
Ya tubes will get manky and will have to be replaced.
Numerous leaks (rubbish fitting).

I do think the idea is really good, I have got massive yields out of it, oh yes it is a success, it just hasn't been easy, (high pressure pump, filter, trays, drain pipes, tubing, high pressure drippers, digital timers - thats easy.) after a year newbie isn't a newbie anymore and he still can't run it. I just know ya can make a much better system your self for
alot cheaper, and I am well glad I didn't buy the ebb and flo. I would not buy another, and if you can't walk into a growroom and read what the plants are saying, don't buy it either.

Hope this helps it will save you money..
