just got a 400 watt techone ballast and hps bulb/reflector and when i turn it on the light flickers a bit then its fine for a couple of mins untill it starts to make a high pitched noise from the bulb! as the pitch changes so to does the flickering..almost like a subtle strobe effect. any ideas anyone? cant get another bulb to test until tuesday n im a bit worried about using it

techone ballasts are a bit dodgy. The only ways to test are to get a new lamp and/or a new ballast .
