I just got my first order of plant magic stuff and with the essence came a leaflet showing all products. On the back there's rockdust and rocky mix which I haven't seen mentioned anywhere yet so I thought I'd ask here about them.

So, what's the price and where can I get them? Or are they new products yet to be shipped to retailers?

On that Leaflet, above the "rockdust/rocky mix", it says "Coming Soon.." wink1.gif

The rockydust we have in stock. I am just working out an ideal size. Preferably use our existing tubs that we use for the Granules, this would contain 1200g of the rockydust. I have also been looking at 4kg tubs, but upon weighing the pro's and cons I think the smaller tubs would suit all round better especially where shipping is concerned.

The Rockymix is still under going rigorous testing. We have many clients testing this for us with a wealth of knowledge. I have even given some to ot1 to trial against his usual medium. We want honest criticism so that we can refine it, go back to the drawing board (if needs be) and have more test batches to trial. Hopefully though we have cracked it with this batch, early reports seem promising. Once we have all the reports back I will be sure to post here as to an expected release date which was originally going to be June but has been put back until we are 100% satisfied and pleased with our product.

Great stuff, PM smile.gif Is there any plans on supplying the Rocky Mix (or any other of your products) to stockists outside the UK? I reckon shipping bags of compost with rock dust wouldn't be good business for anyone (not to mention the footprint), but if a growshop were to import the compost by the pallet it would be another story. Every growshop around here has BioBizz All-Mix, so here's to hoping wink1.gif

Do they sell tubs of rock dust? it would save on the postage.

Yep, he just said so a few posts back. Think he's settled on 1.2KG tubs...

Now if only I knew the price and there was some place to buy from already (gonna be potting up soon)

I use rock dust .... its about 6 pounds for a 4 kg tub or bag (20 kg )..... good stuff to its mined in Scotland ..it contains two thirds of all non-synthetic minerals known to man and is a very natural way to add them to your planting mix ....and my worms in the pots love it .... they use it in there feeding process ..
so happy worms ... happy fungi ... happy soil and happy plants

good stuff all round ...

Any news on either of these?

I have tried two types of rock dust for PM both worked well but one of them is very good indeed, no idea if they intend on marketing them.

Getting a good peat free compost is not easy, both types I tried were below my standard compost. I believe pm intend to continue to develop a rockymix, but r and d costs are very high for a little company so it will take time, when I asked last they said they were not releasing it until they think its the best there is on the market.

At present I'm about to test pm's soil supreme, I have it ready to go. I'm not fond of light mixes, but I'm giving it a go with the ot organic grow and bloom, I will not add anything or amend on half except inoculating, but will add rockdust to the other half, I'll tell you what I think in 2 or 3 months time. Every grow I've seen in this compost has been pretty dam good, apparently demand for this compost is on the up pm are having to increase production. Quite a few members are trying at the moment, I'm interested to see how they do as well.

The only reason its not called organic is because of the peat content being its base.

Little off topic but i have just put 6 plants into PM's supreme mix and i have to say i do like the consistency of the bags so far, there is no huge clumps or peat or crap like you get in playgron batmix so just a quick rub between the palms of the hands and all the lumps are gone.

I am just going to use ot1 grow and bloom with a little catalyst this time instead of biobizz so lets see how these do.
