I used to, started when it came out and played on and off for years, eventually left for good with the wotlk expansion, couldn't be arsed anymore, just seemed like more of the same plus I ended up in a hardcore guild that wanted me to spend hours with them every night raiding some dungeon. After a week or two i was bored to tears.
Its a great game though, one that i think everyone should experience a little bit of at least. If you do get into it, you may aswell sell every other game you own as it's very addictive. It's a proper little world thats easy to get lost in.

If you're into "WoW" I suggest you google "Rappelz" for a much better game (I don't play, I know of someone that rates it).

80 Tauren Druid here on shattered halls. only really play pve stuff. battlegrounds have lost their touch and i dont like the whole "2guys and a goblin in a tux" direction. however in the next patch i'm hoping the new battleground will be an improvement.
and yes it is addictive but it actually saves me lots of money on buying other games all the time

I bought it at launch and didnt buy another game until the first expansion, after that it kinda got boring though, it's a never ending grind if you want to be competitive and eventually I just realised I couldnt commit the hours to it.
Awesome game though, ultra addictive

Okay then, hit me up!

After getting horrible annoyed at evony (it tops out unless you put money into it, or whore yourself out to some alliance), And seeing some of the graphics on someone's laptop, I decided to give it a go. I love eye candy and really, I'm doing research.

Anyway, am trying out the 10 day free (first hit is free) trial version, but can't download whatever it is I need to download for my mac. Sent support a note.
After a very quick read of the game intro, I'm pretty certain I want to do a rp pvp (Druid, Shaman or Priest). I have no idea what server, what game (there seems to be several) or anything. Any suggestions? I'll happily read any recommended online guides. There is so much material, it's hard to know where to start, especially when yer a twitchy sort like me.

well that didn't take too long. After one evening of playing for free, I bought WOW and the expansion pack, The Burning Crusade along with a 2 month play card (about $70 US). The character/class (Draenal/PalaDin) I wanted to play was only available with The Burning Crusade. So I had to get the battle chest.

SOOO much more fun than evony! This world breathes! If there are any stoners playing WOW that want to take in a noob, I would be happy to join some group.

err, level 80 player I mean.

If you only play for 5 minutes, you'll never experience why it's fun for others. Me? I've always liked fantasy and sci fi when I was a kid (sci fi more really, but love Tolkien). A game like this is just an extension f that. Plus figuring out how to do well and actually testing your ideas is an engaging challenge for me. and I love the eye candy.

But seriously, I really like fantasy art and design and especially fantastic architecture.

The computer graphics are fantastic and look great on my 17" mac pro book.

And I'm a bit of a designer/writer and stuff like this is good for that.

Actually not. I'm playing a female role both as a night elf and a Draenei.

If I have to stare at my avatars ass all the time I want to be able to enjoy it.

You get to run around in a fantasy world and interact and/or fight with other fantastic creatures. It's an interactive fantasy soap opera. The cool thing is being ae to choose your character. You can be amember of an undead horde (zombies anyone?), a mystical/advanced space being trying to recover from crashing onto the planet Aezeroth, or a human, dwarf or a few other roles. You can play solo, work with a team of others and take on challenges of all sorts.
Often times my work calls for me to sit are do nothing and being able to play an ongoing game like this is quite nice.

I got over my War Crack addiction about a year ago when I realised just how much time I was wasting playing a game. It used to be a good game until they tried balancing everything for arenas then messed up. The thing with warcraft is to do anything end game in a guild you have to devote a fair amount of time to it, raiding requires 2-5 hrs in front of the computer each night, it became more like a job for me than enjoyable, and my god there are some idiots that play Wow.

finally got lvel 10 paladin. I'm flying solo, as I like to do, so hopefully the idiot factor will be less. There are some nice folks playing as well. Someone unknown revived me after I died.
