I was thinking of strains I've heard a lot about, like Blue Cheese, Trainwreck, White Rhino, Lemon Skunk, I dunno really, any suggestions much appreciated.
Full Version: 2nd grow coming - want GREAT strains
So my second grow is coming up and I want some new strains. First grow hasn't turned out so well, growing Seedsman White Widow. I'd say it's a mix of poor genetics and conditions. I want to get my next grow spot on though, and I want to grow two different strains that are strong, easy to grow, popular, good yield, a safe option. They also have to be cheap, preferably under £30 for 5 fems. I'd like a bit of variety between the two strains, sativa dominant and an indica dominant maybe. Would the differences in height be much of a problem?

hey man, i heard rave reviews of the cheese strain so picked up sum big budda blue cheese and wasnt greatly impressed. . may have been the way i grew but have had no problems anywhere else so unsure, . . it was slightly bland, not distinctive taste or fruity flavor.
a mates jus grown original uk cheese that is roughly the same. . keep hearing ppl saying its the best but we're not really too happy with it.
the lemon skunk on the other hand is phenominal! nice sticky sweet buds that smell amazin with a killer citrus-y taste. . makes your mouth water smokin it!!
my latest grow includes alaskin ice, .cant recall the price for 5fem but its worth double watever it is
cross between white widow and purple haze.
almost lime taste from it.
good yielding - got mayb 4/5 oz a plant
smoked 5 jz myself with a few movies and think its one of the best highs ive ever had
also if ur worried about hieght try a small SCROG. . doin it jus now to 10plants and its sooooo simple and results are magic

Go with the GHS Trainwreck. I grew 4 in my last grow. Its a piece of piss to growin hydro. Can take high EC levels if you like that sorta thing. Was a very forgiving plant that grew fast.
I topped mine and veg,d them for about 2 weeks longer than normal. Because I was told their yeald was,nt great. I still managed too get between 4-5 oz pre plant. Of some very potent weed.
Not the greatest taste,but sometimes after a chuff on a joint id be rewarded with a nice sweet taste almost like toffee or carimelle( not sure thats spelt right).
The stone is powerful. Dont make any plans for going down the gym or playing football. Or anything that requires you to be energetic. After a spliff and a bong. It will slowly pin you too the sofa and send you too sleep. Proper stoner smoke.
Ill deffo grow it again

For Sativa, Up-Stoney High:
Jack Herer or any combination of it - Many seedbanks/breeders has their own take on this one so don't pay up for Sensi. The only down side with the Jack is longer flowering times (11-13 weeks for pure Jacks), but it is excellent yeilder. Try to look for a strain that has more indica in it for shorter flowering times.
Satori (Mandala)- If you can get them beans go for it, heard only good things. Vigorous, Heat resistant, Excellent yielder plus decent flowering times (9-10 weeks).
For Indica, Mellow-Body Stone:
AK47, White Widow, White Rhino, White Russian, Herijuana/Anesthesia - All very squat indicas with excellent yields and short flowering times. Might knock you down if smoked too much though, with the latter(s) not a party weed at all, but more for medical uses (pain relief etc)... They will make you drool over Discovery channel at 2am no probs
Cheese - No need for introduction, on all of its varieties. BlueCheese/CheeseWreck sounds lush btw
Chronic (Serious)- The guys over the pond love this weed. Super good yeilder with fat colas but i understood it lacks taste and punch?
NYCD - Yum Yum. Indica dominant, more for the flavour rather than yield.
Oooh and i forgot KillerSkunk... Sounds awesome but too rich for my blood. Plus i don't think the beans are fem or sold in packs of 5?
If you fancy being a bit of a weed snob and little bit of an adventure i will go for the Berry/Diesel/Sour combinations, but they obviously cost more and not the best yielders
I must admit i haven't tried anything like that myself but a combination of DieselxBlueberry or Jack HererxBluberry sounds too damn tasty...
All in all everyone has their own taste and preferences, i would prefer having 2oz of A+, super sticky, full flavour weed than 3oz of decent stuff...
My best suggestions is to use search option in the forum regarding all the recommendations you get, roll a phat one and start reading some grow diaries/smoke reports...

try train wreck or blue cheese , i have both going , there great , TW are tall not many leaves so better

i agree mate im in week 4/5 flower looks like its going to be a great yeild .....not had any probs (touch wood....
)how many weeks did you flower for???
high i think you should go for bb cheese! And gh lemon skunk! 2 great strains with very different looks, taste and smells. Both easy to grow and the 2 of them have very good yields. Or you could try cheesus, bb'ers new strain instead of his cheese. Nice to be the first too do a diarie on a new strain.
