Hello fellow cultivators. I own a 250hps and have not yet finished my first grow. I have started this post purely becuase i am in two minds whether or not to upgrade to a 400hps. I could really do without the extra electric cost so wanted to know what yield a fully qualified grower has got from this power. It would be nice to know strain and plant numbers and even grow size room. Thanks all

Hey, i run about four plants on perpetual harvests and with my abominable growing skills i get about half ounce to an ounce from each plant but thats dependant on a lot of things, particularly my ever-diminishing fuck ups.
I would recommend a scrog becausethe light depth on 250's i find to be a problem meaning i get long stems with little buds on the ends, so far LST is helping loads but a scrog would do wonders
I'm looking at doing a 2x400w scrog next with 2 plants to see what i can pull of that... should be a little bit more than an oz....
Oh yes, i have a wardrobe about 60cm by 80cm, its a bit cramped in there
I bought a 250hps thinking it would be loads better than enviro's but I think you really ned to get up to about 600 before you'll hit the sweet spot with light depth...
I could be wrong but i do beleive arnoldlayne gets about 250g a harvest of his 250 but i may be remembering wrong

i see, i am sure i am going to get at least 3 ounce off my 2 plants . I was going to go the scrog or sog root. Thanks for your input.

I ve done a few 250 grows in an 800mm square space and my largest crop was 4and1\2 ounce with 4 topped plants grew in 11L pots.I done a similiar grow with a 400 and got nearly 10 ounce.Now ive fitted the 250 with mh and use for vegging.The strain was NL all grew in compost.The only disadvantage of the 400 are increased heat but this is outweighed by the yield increase and denser buds, providing you have sufficient extraction.

Never less than 4 ounces. My last grow probably at least 6.
Check out Arnold Layne's grows - he does much better than me.

In mitigation I have appalling ventilation and grow unpredictable genetics from unsexed seed.

I veg for 6 weeks, chuck the males, repot, bend the tops and veg for 2 more weeks.

I use 250 hps the whole time (electronic ballast ), my room is 3foot x 3foot x 6foot ,i get between 3 and 5 oz a grow last time i only ended up with 3 females
so that was the 3 oz ,ive got 5 alaskin ice right now with 2 weeks left and it looks like my biggest harvest to date (4th grow)


My next grow im doin super skunk (sensi) , and im gonna try a scrog with maybe 4 plants , i reckon scrog is the way to go ,
ive seen such amazing results on here , so im gonna give it a go , ive had the option to change to a 400 but
im very happy with my 250 ( pic of my alaskin ice )

wow thanks for the replies. i will stick with my 250 then as im not a heavy heavy toker .

And there are ways around poor penetration (and limited headroom)
