looking good mate. as for the red stem sometimes when its cold and the temps drop the stems turn red and even the leaves in extreme cases. could be in the genetics but more likely due to the cold. i have a few with red stems and they are really healthy.

Hi guys thanks for all your kind words
weedindeed you may be right, thinking about it, the one with the red stem was the one which was in really wet soil, maybe in the evening the tempterature was colder than the drier soil so turned the stem red? Still looks healthy enough to me but gotta wait for the next week to see how it responds to being in the bigger pot.

Guys, this is pale in comparison to what happened to Magoos plants. But everything is dead again

They got eaten by birds I reckon. I got to the plot I was so excited basically running through nettles to get to them. Got there and all that was left was stems lying on the top of the soil!!!
All of the leaves had been stripped and even the roots had gone. I don't understand and it must've been birds because there's copper tape and no slug trails, also rabbits cant get to it and would eat the stems anyway.
The worst part is that the bag seed that I put out which hadn't germinated in 11 days had a bloody 1 inch stalk on the ground, and 2 more of the #33s had come up aswell.... I am so dissapointed and angry
But 'eh gotta get back on it though?! Got a load of mixed seeds, all free off friends, not completely sure of what's what but just gonna gem a few of each and see what happens. Will note down what the seeds looked like and germ them all seperately so can see what type of seed becomes what plant....
Peace guys.

Gutted for ya mate! This is a bad day for guerrilas it seems! So somthing ate the leaves and roots but left the stems???? I rekon thats slugs more than birds but not 100% sure.

Jun 16 2009, 12:09 AM
Hey Wake. Don't reckon it could've been slugs. Must've been fast work to get every single plant all 9! without leaving any trails and avoiding the copper tape and slug pellets. I think it was a bird because the stalks had been pulled out the ground and moved as in they were all in the middle of pots to start with then after were scattered towards the edges?!
Just put some seeds in paper. Probably about 35 in total, gonna see what happens and head down to get some bird netting tomorrow.

Man I am having a shit day! I walked in the pissing rain for 20 mins to the headshop today and tried to buy a pipe to use at glastonbury and the guy (who has sold stuff to me before without ID) ID'd me so I gets out my ID and he says he doesn't accept a provisional driving liscence. Then I proceed to show him my student ID and a photocopy of my passport. Then he also ID's my girlfriend who is younger than me but has a full liscence and said we basically had to get out of the shop because we were underage WHICH IS BULL BECAUSE HE SAW BOTH OF OUR ID's! WHAT THE FUCK
Then got soaking wet on the walk home and my headphones got fried by the rain. King Tubby was not pleased. Walk via the pharmacy only to find out they dont have all the shit that I wanted even though they said they did on the phone and were really rude to me! Man and then to top it off I check on my seeds when I get home hoping to see some little roots but NOTHING!
I know it's only been 36 hours or so but thought at least 1 out of the 20 or so would've popped.
I am really freaking out that after £50 odd quid and lots of hours hauling my ass that I am not gonna pull off a crop this year. Even if the seeds pop in the next week, I know we still have 8 week or so veg time, but will my plants be midgits? Also, does growth continue during flowering?

Sorry to hear about the wanky day Satta.
Being ID'd is a pain, and these days shops and employees get fat fines and stuff for breaking the laws. Back in my day it was pretty easy to find somewhere willing to turn a blind eye, on the off chance somewhere ID'd you in the first place!
Have a good time at Glasto though. I've been the last few years, and it's such a great place, but being broke means me and the lads can't afford it this year

If you're going in a car, there will be signs up on the way to the site reminding you to put the parking sticker in the window. 2 years ago we saw those signs and about 100 yards after the next bend the police were pulling over festival goers to search cars (last year we arrived like 5AM, so the police hadn't opened their trap for the day). Put the sticker up as late as possible, so you may look like a local vehicle

(if you've been before and know this, soz, but it is important

)
e2a: we never got searched, thank fook (3 or 4 oz was in the car between 3 of us)! We decided not to put up the sticker to not draw attention to us, and it was lucky we did cos of the piggy trap.

Yo guys.
Great news! Cannnot explain how much this made me smile! It was almost the complete opposite of me running through nettles excited to get taken down, but I was trudging through the nettles slowly carrying a big bag of compost. When I got to the plot and saw something AMAZING! One of the KC #33's is alive and well!!!!
It's about an inch tall, and I'm hoping for a girl.
I put in the seed that I germed. Didn't count them exactly. Think there was;
Approximately 6 stripy seeds from a friend (I heard that stripy seeds meant they were more Indica) which had all germed. Could possibly be Bubblegum. I put a label in the soil with an S (for stripy).
About 10 seeds from Malawi (which I'm assuming are an african landrace strain. probably more indica?!) not sure what will happen with these. The label for these is an M.
7 or 8 seeds from another friend. Only one germed. I know the guy well and he always has them in his bag whenever he's smoking. No wonder only 1 germed as they have probably been fried/frozen/are too old to work. Strangely though the one that had germed had a huge root about 1.5cm long. The label for these is A.
About another 6 seeds from the same mate who gave me the stripy ones and the Malawi (he's a good guy to know!) Which all germed. These could possibly be Bubblegum. The label for these is J.
I got pretty sketched today because both a plane and a helicopter flew over me today. But they are all in the soil now. I didn't have that many pots with copper tape on them already so a lot of the pots have 2 or more seeds in. Some of the ones I'm not very hopefull for had 5. I'm gonna go down on Sunday to see if any have sprouted and I'll seperate them then. Then the next visit will be on Tuesday to plant the next lot of seeds. Then off to Glasto!!!
Peace

Quick little update.
Good news; 31 seedlings poking up above ground! KC#33 still going well.

Bad news; some of the seeds that I was germing were left for too long and were a bit fucked. Also, think may have snapped the tips off some roots when I was transplanting stuff. Can they recover?

This is satta's silent partner here for an update while satta's at glasto.
Silent partner as I've been at uni but back now for growing season (and hopefully harvest), I'm the driver of the operation and a landrover comes in habdy fir big bags of compost.
Went down today for a check up and a water as it was quite hot today, took some photos as well.
The crop is growing nicely and counted 50ish sprouters which is very
Sketched me out as I was walking back through the nettles when I heard 2 loud bangs like a gun

- stood dead still in my korean army jacket for what seemed like a lifetime. Didn't see anyone on the way out though.
Also I thought I could flesh out satta's last update as his room was so busy he did it standing up if I recall...
ran out of copper tape so I've eBay'd another 4m for 3quid

. We also came across a big wooden fence thingy which we can use for something whether it be flattening nettles to sit on and have a spliff next to our grow (I'm turning myself on). And stashed it with our other equipment in a secret storage shed

.

Click to view attachmentClick to view attachmentClick to view attachmentSome more photos of the set-up as it was today. I like the last overhead one especially.
I also put about 20 seeds in paper to germinate yesterday - thinking about planting them on Saturday or Sunday so I hope they start sprouting. I was gonna put some photos of them up but all they are are pieces of paper with a few dots for seeds and a big letter on the front. They were some strippy ones that satta mentioned before, quite a few bag seeds from some african shit and a couple of other types which escape my mind at this time.
I'll give another update when I've set up the seedlings in pots on the weekend.
That's all for my very first post. Signing off...

But you probably hate it if them you got refused still and kicked out

Gonna head down tomorrow with water and my personal babies (pictured below) as although I've planted about half of the stuff at the site I wasn't there for germination so I know these are gonna taste great! (Frosties style).
Frosties are the dogs bollocks!A few of them have full on cracked and almost lost their shells so I gotta get em in fast and I'm sure the rest will follow suit soon. A;so if anybody knows what the red stuff is on the paper I'd like to know - I'm intrigued. Its not really where the seeds have been so I'm hoping its not colonies of bacteria.
Click to view attachmentClick to view attachmentClick to view attachmentClick to view attachmentI think we now have to be careful about the size of the operation as we have 50ish plants (not including the 40 seeds I have just germinated) but as I say "Go big or go home!". And I Suppose that we can always pot (

- pun very much intended) how ever many we want to be full on trees and dare I say it kill the others!?!?!?! I think in that case I woujld just plant em wild in different places and check to see if people say anything about town.

Update for Sunday's trip:
Click to view attachment Click to view attachment Click to view attachmentWent down in that landrover and lost about a liter of water when the bottle fell on the floor and the lid came off - very annoying when trying to drive!
The nettles hiding the spot have grown loads so absolutely no-one will want to go through them (even me).
I planted the seeds and as you can see in the photo they were definitely ready to be planted (hope I haven't given my identity away by showing that I'm white?).
Babies are growing nicely with about 50 leafy ones and another 20 now planted. While I was there I heard some voices quite colse then it started to rain so they buggered off. The weather has been really good here for growing - lots of hot sun with bursts of rain to water them.
Had to have a cheeky spliff as well so sat for a couple of hours in the middle of the grow spot reading a book - good times.
Also the copper tape is here so we can tape the pots that haven't been done yet but i haven't seen any slugs apart from one that was in the compost so i made sure he wouldn't be any trouble and lobbed him well enough away.

Wicked mate, so it's because the light is not as intense as having a big grow lamp right next to it. I was worried that it was the glass surrounding it stopping wind getting to em so they would get really lanky as fuck.
Just got back from the site, there was a tractor doing some shit in the field that I need to go through so I bypassed a garden centre where i bought some general purpose insect repellant for fruit and vegetables and a roll of copper tape. So far we have used 16m of the shit!!!! Also picked up some plastic pots which they were throwing out.
I got to the site, expanded the little greenhouse bit with 2 more panes of glass. Re-potted about 6 or 7 babies. I had to split them apart because a lot had 2 or more plants in one pot, bad times!!!! Hopefully I didn't cause too much destruction but we will see in a few days. Then I sprayed the insect stuff on, put the netting back over and left. Need to buy another few bags of compost because I have used pretty much all the stuff I have so far.
The three leaf freak is just starting to grow it's second set of leaves I think, do you reckon it will always be a mutant or will it grow out!?
