Full Version: Best strains for pollen chucking?

This is for an Australian friend, they'll be taking some seeds back with them next month. Not so much breeding as pollen chucking but their situation warrants it.

They are too paranoid to get anything through the mail, and Oz has gone a bit weird on Canna related stuff now as well, so it's a one time effort for them. They need to get enough seeds to last them for many seasons of outdoor growing.

I'm in the process of convincing them that this is a problem that is best answered by spending a bit freer than usual. A couple of hundred quids worth of seeds to cover the next 10 years? Bargain imo.

I don't know what's best, something like AK47 from Serious Seeds and have a shed load of AK47 F2s or choose one strain for the male and another for the female maybe?

So for those that have done a bit of breeding, how would you do it?

Wouldn't it be better to use Aussie cannabis strains? They have there own really nice ones...
Or I'd buy a massive bag of landrace seeds to grow over there - they have the climate etc. Fuck little skunk plants.... wink.gif
endless search
i would grab some smile or oldtimes or ks then cross them as they grow, if he seeded one plant a season or grow it would last him years and the ugorg crew have got some real special strains that oz wont have seen.

cant they simply buy them from an aussie seedbank such as x-pat seeds ? they have bubblegun as an example and smash has interesting yeilds

if they really want to take some with them then fill up on nivanas and mandala as there cheap , sats do really well in the hotter climes and indis will do ok if its cooler (depending on where there heading ) , ak deals with heat very well but can get a bit samey after a while , also the smell and taste isnt the best even though the stone knockout , A11 or C99 would be a better bet if it were myself along with stuff like shivas shanti or maybe a nice thai cross from seedman , there is a fair amount to choose from

I've got some more details.

First off, no way will they get anything canna related mail order in Oz, has to be bought here and taken back. One of them has travelled across the USA with a lump of soapbar in her top pocket with a 'No worries mate' attitude but they're both scared of the mail, takes all sorts I suppose. They won't even lurk at a cultivation site back home.

Their consumption works out at about 2oz/month between them and they've never managed to harvest a years supply in 5 years of trying. So they're not going to be the next Mel Frank. Also, you plant it where they are and something comes along and eats it. Slugs, possums, swamp rats etc.

Their new plan is to use a 3M x 2M balcony, chicken wire to stop the possums. They do soil but they seem as bad with mud as I am, with a balcony hempy buckets look good or maybe regular pots for passive hydro.

When here they both enjoy skunk when it's around so the Killer Skunk that is getting good reviews maybe? It's the quality of whatever seeds they produce that is the priority.
