Hey guys, This is my first post, have been lurking for a few weeks tho,

Anyway, down to business. I have been looking around and I am finding it hard to find a strain that will adequately fit my grow box's height.

Basically its a 60x60x140 box, looking at about 1m of grow space from soil level to the bulb at max height. I'm not really looking to grow dwarf, as I only really wanna pop 2 females at a time (Not a really heavy smoker, so If i can harvest 2-3 ounces every 10 or so weeks ill be sound)

A few questions that might be slightly misplaced, sorry if they are but the main point of the post is strain research. Does topping the plants make them end up shorter but stouter, of does it just make them bushy? How effective is tying plants to reduce height? Will a Scrog make the plants shorter?

Strains I had my eye on from a point of view of what I'd like to smoke are Lemon Skunk(ghs) and Bubbalicous(nirvana). Not sure if these are just going to get too big for the space.

Oh, other info on the grow - Soil grow, with biogrow/bloom and a 250w HID, MH for veg HPS for bloom.

greenhouse white rhino, will stay no more than 2-3 ft tall if vegged for 3-4 weeks an gives good yeild with some frosty buds.
its a naturally short plant, check the gh grow dvd on their web you get a idea of the max height as they veg for like 6 weeks.
ive grown it an it was some good smoke

Excellent, sounds perfect, I was worried I was going to have to grow dwarfs, meaning I would have to put 4 or so in at a time, and I not ready for a ful scale operation like that, just yet. Wanna keep the plant numbers low to make the risk lower if I were to get caught (touch wood).

Alots possible in that space with a lil TLC, i grow in same height and left with 1m grow space, also floor space is 3ftx1.5ft.. i use a 250w cooltube- would highly recommend the cooltube; get your lights much closer to your plants, which is appropraite with the 250w as not strong penatration.

I have just finished growing out some Senegal haze- had a 20week and 22/23week finisher; Both vegged for 5 weeks. Just topped, lst's and supercropped.

They would be my babies, for sure! I have been researching for about a month now, walking round the house with a tape measure looking for the best places to grow, its driving the misses nuts!

I'm really liking the look of white rhino actually, it has pain relief properties too, which is great for me cos I get a bad back quite often, and especially as I refuse to give up the gym. I was kind of put off it as I knew a dealer that grew it, and his was crap draw, but that was probably down to the grower, not the strain.

I have a darkroom 60x60x140, 250 hps.
Just finished 3rd grow with this setup. Sensi star then hindu kush and now Wappa. Sensi star and Kush i vegged to long and height became a real issue, had to attach the light to the roof with no hangers in the end, but they did not really make full use of the width of the tent. Wappa i had 5 plants in 4 11 litre pots, very even growth, really filled the box edge to edge, flowered them at 6 weeks when they were about 35cm. They just over doubled in height by harvest and doubled the yield of the first two grows. 1 sensi star got about 2 oz. 2 hindu kush got about 2.5 oz. 5 Wappa got about 5.5oz.
Cant be more accurate as my scales are bollocks.

For myself and my friend with the same equipment, but differant strains, flowering early with a well chosen strain and the right density of plants has been the key so far. I reckon 4 plants put on 12/12 at 30ish cms.

Northern lights rocked for my friend and so did White ice. Wappa is my current pick but i am going to do black domina next.

I've grown in one of those with a 250w hps also, I would think an indica dom strain would be fine without training of any sort.

With scrog, lst, etc you could prob do nearly anything.

For a first grow though I would go with an indica like White rhino and flower at no more than a foot tall. I did 4 ladies in 6l pots quite nicely last time.

Mazar are Durga Mata are very short indicas if this helps.

do a scrog matey, i've got 4 different strains happily trained to the same level in mine, and all well below your hight limit.... The world is your oyster

Tying down with string works well and allows you to take you plants out if you need to.
