I am going to get a lightrail for my next crop, to improve my coverage a bit, but am not sure as to how well one would work when mounted on a sloping roof. It would not be going up and down the roof, but would still be mounted on an angle, the length of the roof.

I did see an advert for one that said it could do this, but can't find the URL again (useless stoner).

Anyone had experience of using them like this?

If you can't find that advert then get a normal one and cut a small triangle out of the rafters so that the rail can be fixed horizontally.

Or tie the rail up and let gravity to its job

Hi Offmehead...

I use Gualala robotics Light rails, most common sort.
The one in my mother room is mounted on a slanted roof (attic) but theres no way it would work on the squint.
Just make triangle mounting blocks the correct angle if you know what i mean to level it out.
I just slung a few cross braces across and attached to that, same idea but bigger.

Making triangle mounting blocks saves you butchering yer rafters.
Also tieing's a bad idea, what happens when the light gets to one end with the weight?! Dodgy

Attaching yer lights has got to be 100% right, last thing you want is the whole lot to come crashing down.
