mate have ago at northern lights white label do a good femmed version or sensi seeds do the best normal northern lights its simple to grow great yield of top quality smoke that a sinch to grow cant say more its one of te strongest strains you can get one of the easiest to grow and it has a fast finishing time of 7 weeks flowering
so i strongley recomend this strain
plus sensi seeds skunk no1 is also an amazing first time grow aswell plus you could also try california orange wich is also easy to grow with a great citrus flavour or shiva skunk from sensi seed bank wich is a cross of skunk no1 and northern lights wich cant be bad
any oe of theese strains will be great for a first timer
plus its no easyer to grow an auto flowering plant and takes alot less electric

Question for you GHSC lemon people. are you having much problems with hermies? I've heard that might be a concern with the GHSC femmed stuff lately?

And question for original poster: I tried to do 1 plant in a tent (600w as well) before, and unless you have a *LOT* of time to veg, I'd highly suggest not doing just one plant unless you're in an area where the penalties for 1 plant are significantly less than the penalties for doing more than 1 plant....

Unless you mean 1 type of plant but many # of plants in which case, knock yourself out smile.gif Afghani #1 used to be known for being an easy plant to grow, but these days af #1 may not in fact be af #1, but perhaps sensi has sorted that out... I've had really good success on my first medical grow a number of years ago with Hindu Kush x skunk #1. For whatever reason, every time I grew Northern Lights it has hermed (and ended up ~ 6' which is more my fault ;-) ) so I've stayed away from NL for awhile.

Cheers for the replies folks...SaintSinner i live in the U.K so i'm not sure on the law to be honest? i just thought i would get a better yield off one is this not true?.

Ive been reading and hearing some very good things about Killer Skunk (check the forums). But in General most Skunk strain,s are easy to grow and can produce some very interesting yealds.

If your growing in a 1m2 space with a 600w lamp you really want too consider growing more than just 1 plant. 4+ would be ideal. Or you,ll just be wasting space and energy that could be put into growing more plants.

The Veg time it would take 1 plant to fill a 1m2 space would be massive. Plus all that training and tying Bits back would just be a pain in the arse. IMHO 4 plants would yeald more and take less time to finish than 1 big monster.

My last grow in my 1m2 budbox was 4 trainwrecks. I veg,d for about 8 weeks and flowered for almost 10. I got 4+oz from each plant and by the time the chop came they were nearly 5ft tall and filled my budbox almost to the max.

I would suggest The Church from Greenhouse seeds i grew these for my 1st grow with a 250w hps and yielded just over 240g dry, I vegged them for 6 weeks and flowered in 11 litre pots for around 9 weeks. They seemed very simple to grow had no problems at all in my 1st grow with these. I had 1 seed left of The Church from last year so i grew it in my last grow with a couple of trainwrecks only problems i had were my own fault as i used a different soil so think i overfed a bit.

I have only grown 5 strains myself but The Church is definatley the easiest and most forgiving i have grown, also its the best yielded ive grown and the smoke is lovely.

The strains i have grown are; The Church, Lemon Skunk, Trainwreck, Northern LightsX5 Haze Mist from GHS and White Dwarf from Buddha seeds.

As for hermies with GHS i have never had that problem with any of the above strains which i have grown.

i have had hermi,s from a few dif seed co,s.it can be stress dont forget that causes herming .but i have had to bin 7 out of 9 g/h cheese due to them spiting out a few bannanas at week 5ish.they were fat buds from seed but wen i flowerd the fist lot of clones sum hermied . the 2 pheno,s i have of cheese r a nice blue type cheese and a real kushy 1 .worth the £30 all dat tho so ya canot cus them down. stoned.gif rofl.gif

When you first start out, pick the cheapest seeds that appeal to you. At first, its not about what you're growing as much as how you get the basics down. Get the environment right and the plants will damn near grow themselves. My first grow was from bag seed, just so happens it was some killer bag seed, lol.gif. I grew them, went through some trials and tribulations, and ended up learning a tonne and getting some damn fine smoke. I kept mums of them, learned to take cuttings from them and did so for a while and then decided to try some different strains and put my new found knowledge into some "nicer" strains. I use nicer loosely as it all comes down to what appeals to you.

If you are set on going with one plant in a tent under a 600W, I would definitely do a SCROG. You need a longer veg time but I believe you would get the most out of one plant that way.

Keep it simple.

Forgot to add that my most recent grow I had 5 plants, one of which was a GHS Cheese. My environment wasnt the best but the cheese was the only one that didnt throw a nana.

no hermies here. Not even one little nanna. Dont believe the hype about ghsc. I have had herms with a few other seed companys though. If plants are kept well and not stressed they wont hermie.

Don't be placing all your hopes on a single plant. A simple mistake can turn an otherwise healthy plant into a runt and I still manage to do that sometimes.

You won't find anyone slagging the stabilty of Paradise Seeds fems. Get a 5 pack from them of whatever you fancy and grow them out. Use the 600w hps to veg them, they'll prefer that to any weaker light you have no matter what the spectrum.

If the worst happens, having 5 plants is going to make no difference over having 1 plant.
