yeah it's only a bit of fun, looks cartoon like, shit guns, shit graphics but fun
tf2.....you mean bf2, no contest,

it's quite similar to team fortress, although I haven't played II ..in that the graphics are basic but the game play is not bad I'm running the graphics on max @1920x1200 res so it's looks ok to me ..quite addictive, and free, runs on low spec machines ..what else do you need to know ..the guns etc get better as you gain XP much life bf2, bf2142 etc..btw the game play reminds me a lot of BF2142

Sorry I just noticed "test bed for BF3" LMAO in which or anyway is this console game a test bed for BF3?

it's quite fun but i don't really like third person, infantry are seriously slow so it kinda forces you to use vehicles. only 2 maps (or i've only been on servers that have 2 maps?) but i suppose it's a beta.

maybe if i play more i'll get more into it. currently at level5.

It's like asking what does windows 98 have to do with Vista, ms have basically been developing the same OS engine since 3.1, EA and Digital Illusions have been essentially doing the same thing with the Battlefield game engine starting from BF1942 and will soon end in BF3 when it comes out, they know there is much expectation for BF3 after the success BF2 & 2142, some people might notice how similar the gameplay of BFH is to 2142 in terms of the firing and movements etc, not played enough of BF2 to comment ..but its the same engine being developed all the way through the series, BFH will allow them to beta test some of the BF3 engine and even pay for some development from in game advertising etc to make sure BF3 is the killer fps when it comes out also they could be waiting for the price of graphics to drop a bit so they can increase the graphics to the next level ..that's my theory anyway ..so yeah it's not a console game

Ok I just wondered cause Battlefield Heroes looks like cartoony shit (no offense) compared to what BF3 is supposed to be like. From what I read a while back it was going to be the next gen/ level of graphics with destructible buildings and land, much the same as in the RTS Company of Heroes.

I played a hell of alot of 1942 and BF2 miked up and in squads 64 player and I also played the ring a ring of roses single player mentality game which got old quite fast. So for me the BF series is all about geeking up with a mic and serious team play. And to be honest I was shocked how much fun taking orders to defend or attack an objective could be.

I've been waiting for BF3 for bloody ages and am glad that they have gone back to WW2 for the next installment all though I'm not too keen on the islands as it will mean getting your ass handed to you by the fly boys.

I really hope that they change the flag hopping shit and make it more like project reality.

you right it does look cartoony, I'm thinking part of the reason for this(apart from the unique fun side of things) ..it's like EA Alchopops to bring in the younger audience onto the Battlefield ..I'm interested in gaming not just to play but because they push computers to the limit and are a good indicator of where technology/hardware/code is at.. one of the things that is ruining pc gaming is private subscription hacks which are undetectable to anti-cheat systems(cos they are private) hacks were available for cod5 before you could even buy it in the shops, cod4 is the same ..the maps on 2142 were so large that wallhacks etc were pretty much useless ...you may see someone through a wall but they might be 2 miles away ..iow the distances made the use of hacks less effective ..there are people hacking already on BFH ..pb is not running yet ..but have you noticed that every so often the screen jumps between every player with the message 'updating config' ...I'm hoping that this is part of EA's new anti cheat where the players data is shared between all the other players ..meaning that if you try to change a value(infinite ammo) client side it will be detected as copies of the true value will be held by the other players on the map ...it's a lot harder to change values stored on other peoples pc than your own ..hope that makes sense

playd in a few serious clan/leagues, TS, training etc ...won the premiership(cod4) 2 years in a row, 80 clans, , 800 odd players, 6 month league, I like the flag system on Battlefield, the maps are huge you need a away of bringing the players together to fight ..battle hot spots/flag points give the maps a bit of structure ..imagine trying to play 'free for all' or tdm on maps that size ..it just wouldn't work you could run around for 15 mins without seeing anyone, cod,cs,fear,quake are diff games for me smaller maps no vehicles ..more like arcade but if you could take the soldiers from cod4 and put them into the Battlefield system now that would be a game and a half...cod weapons and player movements systems are the best, a real sense of firefight ..great audio ..I hope BF3 isn't going to be shit like cod5 I hope they keep all the good points from 2142 and make some improvements to the weapons,

I take it you mean CoD4 ww2 CoD 5 is yet to be made. I totally agree with you that games are the things that push computers to their limits, I see PC gaming as the F1 of gaming.

I have meet quite a few youndlings that play BF2 my XGF nephews used to play and would guess it's just something different and it's a touch easier to run than games that attempt to look like real life.

The thing that ruined BF2 for me apart from the Ring a ring a roses flag capturing was the dolphin diving and bunny hopping as if I want that kind of play I launch Unreal. It's pretty shitty that EA didn't patch being able to jump and fire at the same time cause its hella shit in a game that tries to be as realist as it does. That's why I joined global-conflict.org as those shitting tactics weren't allowed, as well the whole squad bases team work was surprisingly good fun.

I found CoD4 great fun both with teamplay and running around on your own, but mostly because being a PC gaming I could choose what servers I played on. I've read quite a bit from console users that the game was ruined by spawn rapping and the like, which isn't something that I'd do so isn't something I want done to me. There is a saying that I made up about London and that is that "There are wankers per square mile than anywhere else in the country". It just based on the amount of people that there are in London and the fact that the word community really doesn't have much meaning here and the same goes for the net. How many servers can you get banned from until it effects you with the thousands of servers for each game.

What can I say bout Cheating well I hate cheaters the same way as I hate thieves. I like this saying "If someone is willing to steal a pound then what else are they will to steal?" And that goes for cheaters to, if someone is willing to cheat in a meaningless game what else would that cheat at? I take it that they would be more than willing to fuck their best mate wife steal his green and is the type of person that uses rohypnol.

Cheating is one fucked up thing to do and cheating vs a bunch of strangers WTF?!! How meaningless is that? Can it possibly feed the ego? I can't see how, but I guess it must as there is no other psychological reason for it. Morally it is a dirty crime, but many I'm certain would say that what has the victim really lost? Well not much, but that's my point. If someone is willing to cheat in a "meaningless" game then they can never be trusted with anything worthwhile. So to me they are the lowest of the low and scum of the earth.

one irritating thing i've found is that you're allowed to upgrade to different weapons with points earned by playing
but the new weapons only last for a limited time untill you have to buy them again

there's rumours going around that they may release it on Vista and not XP, they reckon future games will all be for Vista as XP will fade away

looks like BF1943 will be a smaller cheaper game before BF3 comes out, final tweak before the big release ..have a look in the video at the: planes, jeeps, fixed anti-aircraft guns they look exactly the same as BFH a good example of the test bed thing even the feel of the map is kinda samey,

No its not, cod 5 came out last year it was Call of duty world at war. Call of duty Modern warfare 2 (cod 6) is due out in november this year

Nah mate i know i'm right i have it in my collection although it doesnt get played much.

there may have been many spin offs to the call of duty series along the way like big red one which was a spinoff from 2, but call of duty world at war is definitely the 5th in the series available on the xbox 360, have a look on blayz'd posts.

I agree that it's the 5th in the series, but it's the same game as CoD4 just with different skins. It's abit like calling battlefield 2 battlefield 3 because battlefield vietnam was in between 1942 and BF2.
