And the others.
They are a bit low tech but seem to be doing the job so far. They might be ready for planting in the ground soon.

No but thanks for pointing that out. Might that be why one of them died?
Not sure if I am going to plant them there, but to be honest all of the places I have in mind have ferns.
Would you recommend planting them in large pots instead? This will require more maintenance, I was planning on leaving them until harvest time.

Sorry to hear about your death, hope the others are growing well to make up for it.
IMHO those plants in the coke bottles should probably be uncovered. They are getting reasonably mature so will not like the humidity in those bottles and the restriction of air flow might not be that great for them either.
smeagol
Jun 4 2009, 11:23 AM
i find that cutting the base of the bottle is more suitable as air can get in via the top ( obviously leaving the lid of ) .. if the opening is large place a stone on it to prevent slug/snail entry .. should also use a stick going thru the top into the gound to prevent wind blowing bottle away ..

I have holes cut into them to let air in, and they are all surrounded by copper tape.

I've had another two casualties. Went to check up on the two that were in the blue 5L mini greenhouses to find them both uprooted, and the plants gone. They were staked into the ground, so the only thing I can think of that has happened is deer have come along and eaten them. Don't think there is much chance that anyone would have found them. Still got 5 good ones left though.

Well I'm having a bit of a dog day afternoon today!
After I discover that two of my best plants had been sabotaged over the weekend by someone or something, I leave my other 5 and come back two hours later with the intention of replanting one into a bigger pot to find that someone or something has been jumping all over them and trashed them. LUCKILy the damage to the plants in this instance was minimal, but soil was everywhere, they were uprooted and pots split in two.
I THINK the creature responsible in this instance is probably dogs. People walk their dogs around there lots, but they never go anywhere near the two spots I chose to leave them. At least THEY don't, but the dogs do. As I was there just then there were people walking some rather large and clumsy looking labradors, and they kept running off into the forest like dogs do, so what i think has happened is a dog or two has come along and trampled all over it....
I think possibly what has happened with the two other ones could be down to dogs, and having left the plants open to the environment, rabbits have then come along and feasted on them.
F u c k !
So I have salvaged the remains and I am currently working on a contingency plan.

Unlucky mate, maybe best you sack that plot while you still got some plants as bad luck rolls like fuck once it starts. I reckon i would of packed em up the first time and got the fuck out just incase. At least have a wee scout about for somewhere new. Stay safe dude. Good luck

This a picture of one of the pots I suspect of having been munched away by rabbits, after some clumsy dog trashed my little greenhouses.

This is the second scene of destruction, that happened within 2 hours of me leaving it and returning, after I had gathered the mess up a bit. I think I even know which stupid fucking mutts it was that decided to run over it. I saw them coming out as I was going in.
Maybe they smelled them, I was surprised to find out that they are already starting to smell a little.

This is probably my strongest plant, that I have just repotted into a biodegradable pot. I am considering taking it out to another post I have marked and placing it in the ground until it gets a bit stronger, but I am slightly worried about the weather forecast which is predicting rain.

Well it's my first time, so you can't expect me to grow beanstalks. I'm not planning to enter them for the cannabis cup, you know. Like I have said repeatedly, I'm having to grow these under conditions of extreme stealth. Blame the fascist dictators down in westminster and the pigs who follow their orders, not my novice green fingers.
I still got one or three left that are leafing up nicely, and should hopefully yield a good smoke or two. They probably should be bigger, but they have exceeded my expectations anyway and they look healthy, I thought I was going to be a complete disaster, as it goes though it has only been a partial disaster, and I've made loads of mistakes to learn from for next time.

Not looking for the cannabis cup this year, just thought I'd post some pics of my grow, or at least what I could salvage from it. The whole exercise was a disaster, but the main thing is I have learned from it so next year with any luck I should be in a better position to give it a proper go. I have managed to salvage something from it all, and hopefully I should be able to get something nice to smoke out of it in the end.
Anyone know when the best time to cut and dry is?

Looks like it has a while to go. But if possible keep out untill the real heavy long lasting rain and frosts come. Check often when it has rained or mold will ruin what you have
best of luck

Thanks Ganjaman.
I was hoping to have some photos and some conclusions to draw on my first attempt, but sadly I am afraid to report that I have now lost access to them.
I had them stored in a mates loft after abandoning the outdoor grow, but the cunt has decided to take it upon himself to fall out with me, and as part of my punishment I don't get to see the end result of my grow, or even smoke any of it.
It just goes to show that you can't fucking trust anybody these days. At least I can be thankful that it wasn't the filth who nicked them though, that would be rather more serious a problem to deal with.
Anyone got any ideas on how I can exact my revenge on this bastard, something that you know doesn't involve grassing him up, I wouldn't do that to even my worst enemies.
I'm really fucking pissed off about this, but next year I am going to have a better success, so fuck this shit head I hope he gets loads of bad karma. Maybe I will even give him some myself.

Yeah I'm going to let it go. But I'm going to front him up over it tonight, and if necessary there will be fists. I'm not so much bothered about the plants now, well I am. I just would really like to punch him in the face. I offered to give him 50% of what there was just for keeping them in his loft. I bought all the pots, soil and seeds at great expense and spent a great deal of time nurturing them. He is not getting away with this.

Well I fronted him the other night, and we are only now bessie mates again. Fucking drama queen.
I knew he would be down the pub so I went out for a pint and we both ended up in the company of mutual friends and had to pretend we were on best terms the whole. Got things sorted out in the end, he basically admitted he was being a fanny about the whole thing. I told him I wasn't happy about being shut out like that, especially when he was in charge of my fucking grow!
Sadly though the grow is no more, apparently they all flopped over and died. Least that is what he said anyway...

I said previously the plants had all died... well, I was only saying that until they were ready for harvesting, in order to protect my mate who looking after them from any possible repercussions...
So here are my results. They turned out better than I expected all things considered, but in the end once I picked all the bud off I was left with about 10g, and that was before drying.
As for smoking, well I have had a few pipes off it, and to my surprise it didn't rip my throat out, instead it was quite smooth. The high was nothing special, but it was definitely there, got fairly mellowed out by it.
Now that I have tried this once I am confident that next time I will have a better success.

next year you want to use bigger pots and keep the light closer to the plants they have streched like hell get a fan on them to thicken the steams up pinch the middles out to keep them short and bushy do a hand test then you will know how far to keep the lights from the plant if you can fell the light burning the back of your hand then you will know that its going to burn the plants. run the fan a cross the tips of the plants to blow the heat away its not hard i am sure by this time next year you could get yourself a tidy crop weather in or outdoors and all the guys on here will give you plenty of advice. i wouldent trust working with your mate again to be honest do your own thing if he would rip you off for a small inside grow think what he would do if you had a bumper harvest outdoors.
