Well folks ive started this thread basically to keep a record of my fishing progress down here in England, i used to fish back home but in our rivers were only sea trout/salmon/brownies/rainbows/grayling & eels, the coarse fishing was really shite also, pike/perch & the odd place with roach ive always loved fishing for the last 14 yrs & always watched all the usual fishing programmes on sky, but now ive actually got a rod licence & live where they cater for course fishing i cant stop going, theres loads of places round me to go & its ace, currently only fished 1 venue at the moment tho. I seen someone catch a carp the other day for the first time ever, only ever seen it on the tele, but im wanting to do them all, normally im a pike man & also like getting small roach or perch as i like to livebait, but im wanting to try for the carp/chubb/tench/bream & defo barbel, so its basically going to be a big learning curve which im currently luvin fook me i go into a tackle shop down here & ive never seen half the stuff before, i feel like a right tit with all the questions i ask but its the only way to learn eh anyways, since ive been out ive had around 30 or so perch, 1 skimmer, 3 jack pike & 2 tench, when i caught the tench i was using a feeder rod with changable tips & 3lb line, so light tackle to get livebaits, man what a fooking fight they gave me, ive also lost another 2 tench & lost around 6 pike but didnt really mind the pike to be honest as again they were small jacks & saved me unhooking them anyways il post a pic of 1 of my tench, this was actually the smaller of the two, have the bigger 1 on my phone but need the cable to put pics from my phone to my laptop, seems to have gone awol doesnt look that big in the pic but was very broad too, great fish on light tackle tho so il be trying for them again for sure, anyways il stop babbling now & get myself ready for a day of fishing

I remember when I lived in the north-east,zero freshwater fishing though salmon,trout,sea-trout,grayling etc were abundant,now in the south-east in one of the best areas for carp in the country and all I think about is salmon and sea-trout The grass isnt always greener

Ahhhh id forgot about that bud, see i can barely remember yesterday yup & there was 1 night in the mode where i caught 4 luvly trout & the Leepster only got 2 whooped is butt to be honest man that night is what made me go for my rod licence & get back into it m8, id forgotton how good it felt with a fish on the end of a line, even if it was 20lb braid was a class night

Well folks our fishing trip today didnt get off to the best of starts i was meant to pick Leepy up at 06:30am but didnt get there till 08:50am tried to stay awake all night but just thought il get a quick hour anyways we ended up going fishing to my usual venue, my other scottish m8 was already there trying & he got a nice tench & half a dozen small perch, me i got 4 small perch which we keep for livebaits for the pike, me n Leepy sat n waited for the pike then bang healthys into a fish on a small live perch, was just a small pike again, quite long but very lean, but i say in haste, they are getting bigger & just the other day i seen a BIG pike cruising thru the weedbeds, im going to get a big 1 soon i can feel it in me bones heres a couple of pics my expert photographer the man they call Leepy took, first 1 the fish 2nd 1 swimming away after being returned safely, good pic that m8 by the way

Well went out for a bit fishing today at another water i hadnt fished before, leepy only showed me where it is 2 days ago so thought id give it a blast, nothing really to take pics of tho, got a couple of decent roach, some bream (which ive never caught before) & then i had on a fish that snapped my line aaaarrrrrggggghhhhh felt pretty decent too but never seen what it was cos it stayed deep im thinking carp or tench damn

another day tho & i WILL catch my first ever carp

Walking round my local free water yesterday i spotted 5 carp basking in the sun, i only had my phone cam so the pics are pretty shit but you can still see them, theyre fooking teasing me now

Hi all, its been a while but today i went fishing at 6am till 12, caught loads of perch but no tench which is what i was really after

i did however catch this little fooker, vicious little bastard he was but i presume this is the signal crayfish, im sure ive seen him from river cottage on the tele eating these before

That`s one ugly mutha.

The bigger fish in our rivers are thriving on them...but in the mean time the signals are eating all the eggs,so in time there will be fewer fish hatching..not good news really f**king things..yuk!

Well i went fishing for another couple of hours around dinner time with my m8 today, he got a crayfish too & i got THIS WTF couldnt fooking believe it when i reeled this in only in fooking England & he was just as vicious as the crayfish, couldnt believe how far his neck came out & i noticed hes a front leg missing poor thing. I wonder what il get next catching him never seemed to bother him as after id put him back he was messing around in the water chasing stuff & floating on the surface & having a look around

Ye man i put him back, hes cool he bit the wee forceps i used to get the hook out the corner of his mouth & held on pretty tight, i was surprised, if you went towards him with ur finger he was poised ready to bite barbless hook so all was nice & easy mucka, he cared not a jot he didnt look best pleased like but was happy when he went back in

Released pet from the teenage mutant ninja turtle era,loads of them around,have a look at them in the lake in the grounds of Harewood house,I have seen them on the grand union canal and a few other places,I bet he has some stories to tell,wonder how he lost his leg?
