hiya guys.I'm not claiming to be a proffesional gardener I do alrite to get what I want so here it goes. One of my mates has been scoring off this dude he has just met.this guy grows his own to sell tried some the other day(poor) and very uncool to let someone u have only just met know that u grow.anyway they where talking growing and he said that there is no need to measure the ph and adjust accordingly. I know some nutes buffer the ph but this dude rekons no matter what nutes u use there is no need to even measure the ph. So help me out guys so I can show him the reply to settle this.thanx

It depends on how you define the word 'need'.

I've done a few bubbler grows without an ec meter. nothing died and the yields were decent but the plants looked like shit, any colur you want except green. smile.gif

For my passive hydro grow I don't check the pH but I have measured it in the past and as I use ro water, everything is the same so the pH now is the same as the first time I mixed up a res to that recipe.
