Hi all,
Apart from my normal wilma grow in clay balls. Im also growing some Dieselrider,s and some bagseed in compost. The compost im using is westlands with added john innes.
And after 3 weeks of veg time my dieselrider,s are now starting too bloom.
But I havent fed them anything yet as they are,nt showing any signs of needing it.
So my question is what do I do. Should I be feeding them just biobizz bloom and topmax. Or should I start feeding grow/bloom/topmax. Or should I just continue too just give water.
And when I do start feeding what kind of EC range will I be looking at?
Please oh please green fingered god,s of compost . Give me some advice.
Thanks ....Atomic

Hi there atomiclolly:
Firstly, although a good medium for growing Westlands + JI isn't organic compost...
Secondly, look for Oldtimer1 posts on Biobizz, you'll find lots of sage advice...
Thirdly, EC? don't bother. That's more of a hydroponics thingymijig. The important thing is to learn how the plants communicate their needs and how to best respond. For best results steer clear of doing things by rote and trying to automate stuff too much ( apart from timers etc.).
Use the search function, especially searching just 'titles'.
Hope that helps.

high. The compost your using has enough nutes in it for around 5~6 weeks. If you can remember when you potted them up for the last time you could gauge when your girls are gonna need feeding. You will need to feed them grow + bloom together. If you want to give them topmax start this on say week 3~4 of bloom. Also start feed at low levels, 1ml per ltr water. Its a matter of keeping an eye on low down leaves starting to go yellow. When this happens up your nute level. Say .5 ~1 ml increase. No need for ph or ec in compost.
As said above check out oti1' biobizz feeding guide. There is also a biobizz feeding guide you could download. That is for rooted cuttings though.
Goodluck mate.

hi guys,
Ive already checked OT1,s post. That guy really knows his stuff.
I was more concerned about when too start feeding. But as Hantshaze say my compost should go another 2-3 weeks. As I started in my final pots like most auto growers seem too do.
I wont feed for another week or two and see how things go from there.
Cheers for the advice guys and next time ill remember that westlands with added JI isnt organic (compost noob alert). And make sure my post goes in the right place.
Thanks again......Atomic

Looks like you're more or less sorted now but as an extra comment my Lowryder mix started to show signs of needing feeding once they were about 5-6 days into their flowering stretch. I guess you may find the same thing.
