Nice Thread.

Currently using New Horizon Mulit-Purpose Compost
, Organic and peat free and so far i haven't noticed any difference from the Biobizz All Mix i have used for the past 3 years. And it looks far less dodgy to the nosy neighbours when you bring in 6 bags of the stuff "for the garden"
My only comment is that i think that it is a little lighter on added ferts than the Allmix.

Nice to hear of a thumbs up for a peat free. New Horizon (made by the same folk as JAB) seems to get consistent good reports. Plus it is fairly widely available......one to watch?

at £10 for 180 litres i should coco.. wink.gif

and it's all sourced in the UK so it's good for the old green miles if you are into that whole thing, which i am.

i have a few too many new variables in my current grow to really establish any scientific conclusions but next time round i may just run a comparison with all mix.

Another Bump and a question.

Do peeps think it's worth running this poll again in the new year?

Questions being along the lines of.......

1) Please vote for compost(s) that you have used in 2009 that you would happily use again.
2) Please vote for compost(s) that you have used in 2009 that you would not use again.

hi all, i started off with allmix then changed to west+ multie about £5 from bq and can c no diferanse at all my plants look awsom i like the structure of it it holds water well but at the same time it dose not clog or go hard it drains well and has a good amount on nutriant content wot can i say it dose a good job and at less than half the price of allmix. west+ has a lot of woody fibers in it and people complain about it i think this has the same afect as adding cocco to your soil for good drainidge bloody good stuff........Scarab

just a quick pic to illustrate this stripy effect the plants on occasion exhibit in the Westlands i have got recently, as i said it clears up in a week or so without adding anything but a little maxicrop and sticking to a wet/dry watering cycle that takes 3 days or so but its very worrying when it first develops.

do you think its lock out or nearly lock out by being too hot, as it looks like mg def whats in maxicrop?

i started adding to my soil and lost the plot, i have been spoiling my grow. i've been advised to use westlands + it looks as though he's in a majoroy. back to basics.

Hey up Grandad

Im getting on well mixing JI 3 and Peat Moss 50/50

I cant get lot of theses composts due to location

Peat is lovely to work with £7 for 100 litres
