wandering how easy it would be to add another small solar panel - so i could have one in the box, for when the lights on and one on the windowsill for when the lights off in the day?

any ideas?

Yeah go for it smile.gif

Currently saving up to buy generators (1600 euro for permanent magnet 30Kw generator, going to need 2) and battery banks (24 deep cycle batteries, costing me around 6500 euro) going to let my 2 growrooms run on solar and wind energy.
I've build 2 vertical axis wind turbines from aluminium with my dad.
The other parts i got already like charger, charge controller etc..
My investment will be returned fully after 18/20 months as i smoke 400 euro worth of coffeeshop weed each month and pay around 150 euro energy for the lights each month.
I know this system is overkill but i'm letting the rooms run on it 1st then if all works well, switch the house over to it.
Copied the idea from these blokes

I'll make a new topic once i start putting it all together smile.gif Can't wait to make a how to for others smile.gif

Peace

Excellent! good on you!

I was talking with a mate the other day about if this would be possible, we were thinking about solar power to run an envirolight, seems crazy tho to convert sunlight to electricity then back to light again but definitely better than paying for the electricity!

Whats the point in converting electric to light at less than 100 efficiency then taking the sacred sun to power a fan at less than 100 % efficiency. I think you should just use mains or even battery powered fans. The small amount of money you may save in electricity will have to be forked out for in cost for the panels. There not reliable enough either I don't think so I'd go for the easy option and forget about the solar panels.

Hey Vigor.

That sounds very interesting indeed and I'd enjoy reading your post on it all so I'll look out for it only out of curiosity not a realistic proposition for myself though spliff.gif
