Theres plenty of threads of killer skunk on the go and a few of oldtimes and smile, search the grow diaries forum.

I have grown out Killer Skunk, and am still doing so. The finished product is first class. I hope to find some really quite interetsing mothers from this strain, it has (for me) unusually strong medicinal value as a mood enhancer and mind lifter; no bad thing when you live with chronic pain.

Currently I have 2 "Smiles" on the go too. But they are very young and I have not had chance even to sex them yet let alone flower them.

I also plan to do Oldtimes, even though my heigh limit is around the 4 foot or less mark. Should be interesting wink1.gif

My KS diary has a link in my sig, if you wat to peruse it and see how the killers grow and bloom. Currently on day 29/30 of 12/12 with pics in the diary from a few days ago.

Hi there Chidow

As already said there a goodly number of grow diaries, strangely they are under the breeders forum rather than the grow diary section. Personally I am a bit sceptical, a survivor of the Hashberry craze of a few years ago. So although they have got good reports to press I think I will wait and see. Seeds are not the cheapest, so although I was thinking of some sort of Skunk for my next grow, if I decide to part with £60 think I will probably go with Simons AK47. Am a sceptical old Bug***.

The difference is though mate, a site moderator has produced these strains. Also I never had any problems with my hashberry after I sorted my drobe out. Only got 1 hermie and i reckon that was my fault.

Just started a few Oldtimes, and looking forward to seeing the results.. Seen a few people describe the smoke on that one like being hit by a kosh...##

Sounds right up my street smile.gif

Don't think you can go wrong with any of those 3

Aye, and rightly so thumbsup.gif
In these days of multi-millionaire cannabiz-men, it is way too easy to get fleeced. Breeders claim they have the holy grail, yet it's just another tired old eye-lid drooper. Wait and see what the months bring, see how it gets grown and by whom. I do, and would always advise the same. Only jumped on this because I know the players involved, personally. They are folks I trust, implicitly. They have not failed that trust yet, and I don't think they ever will. When you have sat across a kitchen table holding a tea pot plus rolling tackle with a fella a few times, and become good friends, its different from when you're considering the wares of some stranger you've never met who lives in another country.
But without that personal input, hell yeah, I'd be wanting to see at least a dozen more grow diaries and they would need certain names on them too.
I think you'll come to them eventually jak, I am confident folks will continue to be surprised and impressed. VRG and those behind him have done a first rate job. Their work can confidenty expect to stand the test of time and a myriad differing diaries. I can't wait to see how it grows under the sun in some better climate than ours. Spain, perhaps? Or maybe North Africa. It'd do well on Cyprus or anywhere in the Eastern Med, I think. Wish we'd had it back in the early seventies when I was growing a few plants out there.
Meantime, I aim to have the whole Trinity of strains in my 'drobe as soon as I can get them them yes.gif

I've grown Oldtimes, and will hopefully always grow it. It's the best weed I've ever grown. The only thing that I've had that touches it for strength is Herijuana, but the Oldtimes blows that away for yield, flavour and pure quality. The only problem I had was trying to decide which mothers to keep, so I kept them all! My partner is Californian, and she wouldn't smoke anything else if she could. She says it's the only smoke she's had that reminds her of the GOOD weed she used to get years ago - except the oldtimes is better. I'll definitely be getting some Killer Skunk seeds, and I'll probably get some more Oldtimes in case anything happens to my mothers.

BTW, Thanks Oldtimer. Much appreciated here!

Hi there Squaggles and Zigzagzoot

I suppose my remark Hashberry craze would depend on what sections of the site you browse. Its all 2-3 years ago so my memory may be a bit wonky. In those days you could buy seeds on uk420 and all the seed breeders whose seeds were being sold had sections in the breeders forum. As I recollect, Mandala had just arrived, and Mike was very promotional. He offered free seeds if members would write a grow diary of their grow etc, I think there were other give-aways and competitions. The upshot of this was that there was a lot of talk in postings about Mandala seeds and especially the Hashberry strain. It was decided amongst some members to have a communal Hashberry grow, some 10-20 members would grow Hashberry, germinating at the same time and writing of their experiences as they went along. Helping each other and comparing experiences. Personally I though this was a great idea but as I was on holiday I could not take official part. I started growing Hashberry about 3-4 weeks behind the rest. That is my recollection of events.

In fairness to Mandala I found a lot of good points to the Hashberry. The seeds only cost £20. 10/10 seeds germinated, 6 or 7 were females, and despite my best attempts to kill them they all grew very vigerously. Yields were great, hugh donkey dick colas, I got jars full of bud. The problem was that after 3-4 weeks of curing I tried my first smoke, and nothing happened! Absolutely no potency. I was very disappointed, especially since this had been my first proper grow ( had been growing previous for two years, but this time was better prepared) Since then, my Hashberry bud has increased in potency a bit with age/cure, but Ive thrown over half away and mostly its been mixed with other bud to make canna butter and a bit of hash. Maybe other growers with more experience and better environment have done better, but I see little mention of Hashberry now.

I was very dispirited after the experience, it wasnt especially the cost, it was the disappointment after 3-4 months of effort Since then have stuck to tried and tested strains from Serious seeds. Its not that I believe any grower was misleading others, its just that I feel members were focusing on the posatives only and I wonder if this could not be the case here. Time will tell, and I hope my reservations are shown to be wrong and the strains go on to become a modern day standard, but personally because of my previous experience I will wait and see and when in doubt keep growing my boring tried and tested stuff. (AK and KM)

Hope this answers your question - Jak

And everywhere, I reckon.
Not surprised at the comments of your partner.
I really must get some Oldtimes in, and start them off.

It was a much hyped strain (even on cover of high times..) but lacked potency etc.
I grew kalichakra and found it to be a fruity tasty bud but also lacking in potency (for my tastes).

I grew lot#5 from the ugorg breeders and it was a top notch sativa. wink1.gif
I'm sure smile and killerskunk are pretty good smokes too.

Nothing strange about that they were all moved to the UGORG section so they are easy to find plus they should be in a league of their own..

Beleave these aint no Hashberry!! lol.gif

As for AK47 its a nice smoke but not as nice as Killer Skunk i have grown both strains and KS is a shorter plant - finishes quicker and is stronger with more yield and better tasteing-smell..

Thanks for that report on the Oldtimes.. Made my day that I started some of these about 10 days ago for my next grow...

Started 4 out of my pack, so hopefully end up with something dynamite by the sounds of it... stoned.gif

Have to say the seedings look, very healthy and vigorous; and have caught up to the Kushberry started about a week before the oldtimes..
