Jesus Christ!
A friend and I have a liccle drobe grow of 1 X Big Buddah Blue Cheese and 1 X Barneys Phatt Fruity. Went round to day to check on them and my oh my...... The stink has began.
On entering the room that homes the little drobe I was overwhelmed by the smell of plant matter, I know I shouldn't be surprised but they've only been in Flower for 15 days! Certainly doesn't smell "skunky", but more the smell of plants / garden centres. They've only just began to develop flowers so its only gonna get worse as the buds truly form.
Should I be concerned and check all my ducting / filter? Or is this just what happens with the mighty Cheese?
Am using a 4' RVK with rhino filter connected with jubilees through Greens acoustic ducting. Plenty of negative pressure as the doors pull themselves closed nicely.
Oh yeah, just a note - Barneys Phatt Fruity is a truly underrated plant to grow. Amazing growth so far and absolutely eclipsing the BB Blue Cheese in terms of size, strength, trainability - and even aroma. The smell on your fingers after just touching the leaves is incredible, sickly sweet fruity smell not dissimilar to undiluted Vimto or Mixed Fruit Squash.
Can't believe I haven't seen more of it on these boards. I hope it smokes as nicely as it grows;
Anyone out there grow it out?

Cheese will stink your whole house out mate, even with extraction it's hard to get rid of it. About 4 - 5 weeks in, it will hum of skunk. And be prepared to use extraction in your drying area too, coz that's when it really starts to whiff :-p

How long have you had the cabon filter running for? sounds like it isn't doing it's job too good.

as long as you have a negative pressure
and your filter has the correct cfm rating for your fan
there should be no smell at all
no matter what the strain is
i would check it is all set up properly

I love it when someone posts stuff like that... I may have the opportunity of an Exodus Cheese cut and was kinda concerned, but smoketilluchoke makes me feel good .... like da cheese... my god it does pong (the dried stuff)

Let us know how it smokes and good luck getting the filter sorted

All sorted now, was a teeny tiny hole in my ducting - caused by when I was a little rough with it while pulling it through the drobe while fitting.

then theres nebular , you can smell it outside the house and yet the stuff in the loft ! not good
or hows about the gurillas gold that you could smell through 2 sandwich bags , a plastic bag , a tool box , some rags and inside the roof of the van , 2 oz and you could smell it from 20 foot away , now that friggin stunk
cheese isnt so bad
