so its 2009 boys an girls and its time to grow me a stash of herbs

ive got sixty seeds ish to grow with this summer... ive been collecting for the last year and a half... i am going to be aiming for as big a harvest as possible as well as to produce a few seeds of my own for next years grow, autos mainly probably.

i have a tub of fourty seeds, i cant remember what exactly i have in there... i know there are around five swiss miss, up to ten bhiah blackhead, some danky doodle, some spontica, and at least three other strains but i cant remember what they are they could include tnr an afghan cant remmeber now... i really have been wastin money on these seeds but every time ive bought a bag ive collected a few for a proper grow like i plant this year so now i got loads of seeds.

ive never harvested a full grown plant of weed an have had loads of messed up attempted grows.... this year im going to harvest a years worth of smoke to make my moneys worth back at last!! (i hope )

this year i have four patches of earth dug up. one is about 1m by 1m and was used to grow my auto ak47s last year. it was a fun experiment where i got an ounce max of early cut buds which were an ok smoke, this patch has a half bag of potting compost added before my first grow last year and then some soil improver added in december some time so it should be pretty fertile and ready to grow on, here i will grow the two packs of auto seeds that i have, they are crazy x seeds 'mossys jem' and 'rasputin ibl' i have ten of each and they should be ready in 8 weeks or so after sowing, these will be sowed in the next two weeks probably.

i also dug over and added soil improver to three other patches... two about 75cm by 75cm these i will add three plants to each. the third patch is bigger at about three and a half meters by two meters this one i plan to fill with plants at about 30cm appart each and so will probably fit twenty or so seedlings in it...

at the moment im physicaly unable to make more grow spots so this year its all my eggs in one basket so to speak... my grow spots which ive dug over are all in the same clearing in the woods. but i feel my grow spot is fairly safe from being found. its a clearing in the woods with a fair amount of light but not exactly the best direct sun unfortunately i dont have a directly south facing plot to grow at.

at the moment i have a tub and a half of snail n slug killer, i plan to sprinkle the half tub around the area all in one go to kill every bastard slug and snail around. then last year i sprinkled more killer around every two weeks to a month or so thru the summer to kill any new slugs or slugs i missed before...

umm what else to say? i got no money for fertiliser or more soil and so whatever condition the soil is in now will have to do... should be pretty decent... we do have tomato feed and miracle grow, thinking about giving a bit of each alternatating every two weeks or something, dont wanna give too much cos theyr not cannabis feed... will get pictures of the site up next time i visit it.

got five or so auto seeds which are popped already which could be ak47 or auto mix or some of my own auto ak seeds that i made. theyre growin in my window for now. and have ten seeds germinating for my first trek to the grow site in months where i will sprinkle some ferts to soak into the ground on the three patches and also plant the six autos and any of these ten that come up.

i know its not too late mate but i just had a huge operation on my foot and so on crutches an cast for up to two more months and dont know how fixed my foot will be after the casts off cos its the fourth operation so i dont have much faith in it... so that why i said im physicaly unable to make more grow spots... unless i planted strait into soil from seedling an not dig the soil over, but last year that method killed all the plants in the end which is why i nearly killed myself diggin these four patches over for this years grow... ive don enuf diggin if this fails i give up till i can grow indoors.

whats our summer gonna be like?

Some collection of seeds mate, half i've never heard. Will look forward to seeing the site pic's and following ur progress, as i'm planning on giving it a go myself with 1 or 2 plants to see how i get on . Do u have to visit often or can u just let nature do its duty. Hope ur leg makes a quick and full recovery

yea i gotta confess to pretty much readin every seed label on my favorite head shop site an wasting tons of money on lots of cheap packs, but hopefull this year it pays off.

might as well do four or five plants mate incase out goes wrong, outdoors lots of plants die and go missing plus males etc might aswell get a yield by plantin a couple more...

i spose it depends on the grower how much they visit mate. last year i visited ever week or two.... if your growin in pots it will need visitin more cos they hold less water and the roots arent as spread as in ground. and if theres a hot drought maybe a visit every three or four days would be neccessary to water them. but generally they will be fine not looked at much untill they need a few fertilisings and a bit of care you know? every couple weeks or summet is probably average

some people visit three times a year one to dig over site an prepare it for the summer an plant the seedlings, two to fertilise an top the plants, three to chop em down. an at the same time someone else might visit every day... which is less safe an not reccomended...

alright dudes not a lot to tell ya but heres a small update. went to my grow site today, it was completely covered over in new growth, stingers and something i didnt identify were the main invasion. at the moment being a worthless dole scum cripple on crutches i cant redig i all over again an add more niceness to help my weed grow so will have to make do with this mess.

i planted out four of those five ak47xlowryder autos, the fifth didnt make the journey to the grow site... and of the normal weed seedlings i put out five of the six seedlings... the sixth was more than destroyed gettin to the site.. they have all been placed with a cola bottle each ovr them for a mini green house effect, i cut off the bottoms to stick in ground an cut off lid to let some air thru...

so there are four auto plants, to be harvested end of june ish... and five normal weed plants which could be a mixture of anything stated in the above posts... not a huge amount of plants yet and theyre smaller than id like for them to have been when i planted them out, cos i grew them in my window sill and my brother is moving back into my room from being away at college so had to kill or get rid of seedlings, so stuck em in ground early.

this year isnt looking good. im goin away end of january and hoped to be away till mid november in se asia somewhere, but will be cuttin the holiday now to at latest end of october. probably more like second to third week of sept to make a harvest.....

i have soaked another fifteen to twenty seeds an theyre in my windowsill sprouting an will be hidden in garden soon to grow a bit befre goin back t my grow site an puttin more plants out.

it was a shitload of effor crutchin thru the woods to my grow site! but hope some harvest is made from all the effort.

soaked the seeds of the autoflowering rasputin IBL and the auto mossys jem today, will soak them till tomoro miday then put them into a wet towel till they have roots then plant them in trays to grow for two weeks before plantin them out in the woods.

these looks like they could be nice, got white russian in the rasputin IBL and mazar in the mossys jems.

also have seven or eight seedlings so far out of the fifteen seeds i germinated of normal weed plants too, but cameras just died youve all seen seedlings anyway .

well there nine out of ten auto mossys jem sprouted, and about six auto rasputin IBL sprouted, with at least a couple more just bellow surface waiting to sprout. then i also have nine mixed seeds of normal flowering weed. gonna keep em to grow on for two weeks then they ill go out to the woods, then i can get a shot of the outdoor grow area for you too.

i just picked up for the weekend. woop woop.

sorry if iv missed it in here, but how do you seperate all of those seedlings without damaging the roots?

so far ive got away with it like that in my previous grows, theyr only spending a week or two with me before goin outside, just to grow them on a bit beyond sprout, so will hopefully be puttin them outside before they get big enough to knot theyre roots together an become real assholes to seperate etc.

but if it came to it i dont care about killin one or two in the process of gettin them into theyre grow spots, id just rip em apart, they nearly always recover fine in my limited experience...

but yea keep watching mate.

last year the auto ak47 was pretty awesome, even tho i picked early and quick dried it...

not tried seeds from this company before and so its an experiment. but i hear good things about the white russian so expect a lowryder cross to have almost similar power in some of the plants. mazar is meant to be better than average too. got good hopes for these, especialy since i spent sixty quid on those twenty seeds they should all be nice an well matured by when i go on holiday at end of july.


im worried about the non auto plants tho, i wont be on this side of the planet when they begin to show sex, so im gonna have problems killing the males... thoughts of combining cctv, lazers and internet conection did spring up, but killing the males from thailand using some sort of online video remote control lazer set up isnt that practical...

i think i may have to come back to seeded bud, cos i cant afford femmed seeds now... i spose i can bubble bag everything an make a load of hash?

5th of may today i put the last of my plants in the grow spot and checked on the ones that went out last week. today is a good day, even tho im outa herb . annoyingly i left my camera set for light bulb light, not sun, so its made all the pics shite n white sorry...

here i have a pic of my whole grow site, it is located out in some unused and rarely visited woods. i would guess my grow spot hasnt had human visitors for three to five years looking at the newish young trees in plastic tubes but the fact theres absolutely no human pathways to this clearing nor nearby. im hoping to use this spot again next year as theres limited grow spots elsewhere, but dont wanna look forward to that till ive got this years cut n cured as you can see i have four patches of dirt, number 1 is where the auto plants are growing, they have good sun coming to that patch, patch two and three have two baby seedlings on them each and are less well fed with sun than the other two but are hopefully still good especially when they grow a foot or two high. patch four is my main grow area, for the non autos, with good sun coverage all day, it currently has four older seedlings from my plantin out session the other week and today i added another ten maybe... but i was twat enough to drop theyre carefully wrapped cardboard box i made to keep em safe in an so most of them have bent stems so i think some will die but i got more seeds if i feel the need .

you can also see that from the side of the clearing none of the dug over earth is visible

so in the non auto section i have a mixture of strains, and have around fifteen alltogether. half will be boys and half again will be slug or deer feed so that might leave me with three or four to harvest.... hopefully

the autoflowering patch is next, it has four auto ak47/mix plants which were planted out a week or so ago, theyre growin along great, better than i expected, and grew way better/bigger and more mature than the non auto seedling grew in the same amount of time. ones stem and leaf veins has turned purple too which looks well cool.

today i added the eight mossys jems and nine rasputin IBL's that sprouted. good germination rate for both packs, wudda been ten outa ten for rasputin and nine outa ten for mossys but i went an killed a couple tryin to help them out of theyre seed cases....

i added the mossys jem on one half of the grow area and rasputin on the other half leaving the aks kinda in the middle, this means i will kind of have an idea which are which at the end but i dont care that much an havent labeled any of em just like the non autos, smoke is smoke, most of the time when im told what im smoking/buyin i dont believe them anyway.

i have collected cola bottles over the last few weeks and so have around half the autos sheltered and protected under mini greenhouses to help them have a good head start in life, and left the other half uncovered, so will see if it actually makes a difference or helps. the non autos dont have any coverings this time as we didnt have nearly enough bottles.

the auto plants are slightly crammed into the grow spot, being maybe twenty cm from each other, but going on my experience from last year they dont branch much or at all and just grow up. plus the fact half will be males an need killing so will need to thin them out that way when they bigger anyway

i have used over a litre of slug poison pellets, a few handfulls applied a month n a bit ago, half the pack last week and the other half today, this i will have to repeat in not too long a time as last year there were fookin millions of slugs literally... but hopefully ive at least made a dent in the population i did see one dead one today

spotted this three embryo leafed baby rasputin, never heard or seen of them ever havin more than two, kinda weird, why u think that happened? im hoping hes a mutant who provides killer buds in two weeks... but unlikely

hopeing to have these autos all chopped by mid- end of july, with an earlyer smoke two weeks earlier of the ak47's.

so this year ive soaked an germed an will be growing probably around 90-100 squids worth of seeds.... so that works out at half oz, maybe five 8ths, from my dealers, which actually once properly dried out by me(cos i can only seem to get wet shite) turns into 8-10 grams of dried smokable herb, so if only one plant finishes this year and yields me only one ounce, i will have made over my moneys worth back... im hopeing/wishing/begging to be chopping down six ounces plus from the auto's an hopefully the same again or more from the non autos. that will hopefully leave me with 12oz plus of herb which will last me a year till the next harvest... hopefully

it would be nice to be self sufficient, but i rarely do anything which succeds, so im kinda expecting the lot to be deer food by the end of the month....

Those drinks bottles look like they could easily blow over in the wind.

should be ok. none of them fell over from the first time n they were there for week n half or so, theyre pushed in about an inch or so plus its not very windy in the clearing below tree top level... they will be taken away in a week or so anyway

probably shudda thought of puttin a stick in them or something tho to hold em up....

Looking good annaconda, are your "mini greenhouses" {coke bottles} all open at the top? I get my seeds on friday and theyll be germed then put straight out so I will probably need similar protection. At least its not too frosty at the moment innit

yea i thought after three failed years in a row then a half oz yield on the fourth, i should give it a proper attempt an prepare well.

my coke bottles i cut the cap part off and the bottoms at where the label stops, that left a sharp edge to drive into the soil at the bottom. the tops i was gonna cut zig zaggy(to hopefully put off slugs) but after half of one bottle it became too much effort so they just have about a four - six cm round hole at the top, need some hole deffo even if its only the lid unscrewed for the fresh air an to toughen them to the air more for when the bottle comes off.


still undecided about nutrients... i didnt put anything much in the ground before just soil improver when i turned it all over... i have miracle grow which i dont think i will use, and i have tomato feed, which maybe i could use... what nutes should i buy for this grow bearin in mind i cant flush them properly or at all... and my moneys low... ?

Yep I gonna use spare tomatoe feed during flowering as its high in potassium to boost the tomatoe fruit making and it'll do the same for buds
Earlier on in the grow you wanna add nitrogen so if moneys tight you could make some nettle tea, checkout smeagols thread.

I rekon young seedlings definatley need some sort of prection from strong wind/heavy rain/late frost but your dead right they need plenty of air aswell. Better go on the scavenge for large clear plastic bottles.

yea deffo. poor little tings need protecting, so many asshole things around ready to kill our babys. insects, animals, dirty stinkin police, mold etc very unfair.

my grow area is fairly humid as its enclosed in a clearing in the woods so the breeze is very low. last year i only had one non auto plant survive and grow half big, i planted it strait in soil... literally scooped a tenis ball sized bit of dirt out an stuck the plant in an left it too it.. it grew about half a meter before getting droopy, yellowing and beginin to die, then got completely covered in mold and was destroyed. i know not giving it a good bit of dirt to strech out into didnt help and this year i will be fertilizing too, but the extra humidity still may be a mold risk... any advice on keeping mold down would be helpfull?

i have just ordered 5 white widow female seeds and 5 blue cheese female seeds... gonna germ one of each when they arrive to add some more flavour to me grow, might try an find somewhere else to put them tho cos this sites gettin full and im gettin more an more worried about the fact all my plants had to be in one location...

shame im on crutches for another month cos its gonna be a bastard of a mission hopping around wit bag full of soil and fold up spade, then one footed digging fuck knows how thats gonna work... where there a will theres a way, or a rebroken foot... weel see

i woke up this morning even more suicidal an depressed than normal, had lots of bullshit happen all mornin an afternoon to worsen the lot as usual, then got a lift to my grow spots woods(make mate stay in car ) as i decided seeing how much my babies had advanced and grown would cheer me up... it didnt, theres something about crutching your crippled fat ass thru woods and stinging nettles whilst in agony on your own carrying seven litres of water in rucksack, that aint that fun, strange eh , saw my plants, in the week or so they been there hardly grown much at all, think probably due to shock from mistreatment/handling and then being placed from central heated house's windowsill into the cold outside with no hardening off period or anything...

out of the twenty two autos theres fourteen or fifteen left, the cunts they call slugs took the best auto ak47 and the other six or seven no doubt

think that rain we had right after i slug pelleted the area with half a litre of pellets must have been the reason for such losses to slugs cos all the pellets were gone washed into the soil an so the slugs had nothin to eat except my precious babies.

hadnt expected to have so many loses in only a week even last year it took a while before individual plants disapeared every other visit, this year its a load gone already

so thats like forty quid gone already, not including the few seeds i lost already or that didnt germ. so much to checking out my grow for a cheer up, all i got is bad news and stinging nettle bumps as gloves.

someone fucking shoot me put me out of my pain an misery. please. fuck .

on a lighter note i began the process of 'nettle tea' which i recently learned about from some of the legends on this site... thanks again uk420!! got about three litres of water in a tub, then ripped up as many stinging nettles i could bare(forgot my fucking gloves in mates car like a twat) bare handed, patted them down into the water wit stick. ive got maybe four fat handfulls of stingers, which when squashed in a bit stick just above the water. this i will leave to ?ferment? or whatever it does, for the recomended two to three weeks, then will begin to fertilise organicaly an naturally once ive watered it down 10:1. will wait a couple more weeks after that to begin to introduce the liquid tomato feed i have too. i might even fert half with the nettle tea an fert other half with tomato feed n check the difference..?

just now i put to paper towel about 12 bag seeds from some very above average weed, plus one widow skunk non fem from seedsman, an one femenised white widow from seedsman and one femenised blue cheese seed from barneys farm. all these i will retopup the numbers with/feed the animals with ... the ww bc an ws should add a very potent punch to the grow if they get to harvest, not expecting the bagseed to sprout tho theyre not very mature(should i assume theyre dirty hermie seeds?)

i also spread a 2litre bottle of my piss around the area my plants grow(not on or under them) to hopefully scare off some deer, not that that worked much last year....

bit of good news today.. 11 out of 12 of the good weed bagseeds popped an have little root now, the 12th was almost white it was so immature so no wonder i lost that one. the widow skunk nonfem and blue cheese fem both have a tiny tip pointing out. waiting for the white widow fem only now... 24hours more in the towel an i will put them all in soil in my window sill planning to keep these inside a little longer if i can to make them better an stronger for when i put em outside.

got 11 bagseed to go outside in about three weeks, plus a femenised blue cheese and a femenised white widow. widow skunk didnt come up yet, its got a root but isnt growing...?

i just got a salvia cutting and a gram of 10x saliva, that will be fun... made a coke bottle greenhouse for the salvia to get it growing in, then will put it into a bigger pot to grow myown cuttings and stash of salvia..

visited outdoor grow to add more slug pellets.. plants are improving and growing well, some are looking way stronger now. had to clear more stingers and other weeds and creepers, man they grow in quick! lost a couple more autos and a couple non auto but most are fine and grew way bigger in the last week than the two weeks before!

That salvia in a 2ltre bottle is a genius idea for startin seeds outdoors.

Protected from rain, protected from wind, air can get in, you can see when the roots are ready for potting on, and to the casual observer just looks like a bit of litter. Funny never thought of not using pots at all. Nice one

yea its quite a easy safe way to keep seedliings outside, plus its good and protective for transporting if you start them in the window or something then need to take it for a car trip to a grow spot... could be left in shade for a few days outdoor before drying out if you wanted to grow in them for a while outdoors too. its hard to get the flap of plastic to close and act as a door tho it either curls up onto the plant of bends open which means its less humid but its still pretty good method.

windowsilll seedlings are looking good, theyre growing well and quite quickly bit stretchy tho.

outdoors still unable to sex the autos yet... thought the first three would be showing sex by now...

Nice idea to reuse those plastic bottles.I did the same bout 20 years ago, but i had the spout at the bottom and dug them into the soil so they were stable (the lid was off and the flat bottom was cut off to just above the plant) - got munched by slugs and dug up by foxes so i didnt try there again!And next time things were different and i used pots.

still growing well. got theyre third leaves forming now. will put them outside in a week and a half...

this coco based soil mix(1x 8litrecoco coir block + 4 litres soil) seems to make the seedlings grow quicker... but they need a stronger fan on them to strengthen them or they get too weak stems in this soil mix and snap easy..?

Dude, I'm wondering why you don't put the seelings into plastic/polystyrene cups individually. I guess it's ok to move them around, but I've found it impossible to move them without damaging the roots. It probably never kills them, but just slows them a bit.

lazyness... those are only bagseed so less importants but yea i need to start doing that an lookin after them better,,,

finally i can start putting some weight on my foot! another three months in a cast! three months without putting any weight, resting or leaning on it and three months of dodging people who dont look where they walk and step on your feet! three more months of pain gone by, cant say it went quick.. but now im free to begin walking again woop woop hoping they have got the foot sorted now, that was the fourth operation, should be good now. still in shitloads of pain but that will wear off as im using it and build the muscles back up apparently. ive got one floppy stick thin leg, and one bulging with muscles from carrying me around for the last three months the first x rays the docs were pleased with. fooking scary seeing 3 3 inch of metal rods in your own foot on screen man! you should see the scars theyre a bit bloody vicious lookin!

crutched my ass thru the woods again this afternoon. EFFORT!

about thirteen autos remain and fifteen non autos are surviving right now! nice and big compared to last visit

hadnt been there since the 22nd and fuck me have the weeds been on steroids or something for the last two weeks?! the grass had grown up and leant into the soil as it was clearer and lighter as there were only a few plants, my plants, and so spread and leaned over nealry all of the auto plants little patch of dirt, so they were only just poking through a couple, and the rest were under grass! then there was weeds and small grass growing between the plants too! all got ripped up and they got some nice direct sunlight now, till the weeds grow back!

the non autos they were even worse, i have five larger plants around a foot in height with a good few leaves begining to grow, four of them had bind weed growing up them curling around them, not long and they would have been killed! then the other ten were still small and had hardly grown because they were completely surrounded by grass and nettles and other stuff and had barely any light plus a couple more with bind weed on it! i had to carefully pick it all out and will be visiting more regulalry for now on untill the plants are tall enough to not be threatened by these little weeds. its shocking in two weeks how it refilled everything ive already cleared twice

i suppose all this excessive weed growth shows ive nuted, dug over and turned in some good extra bits an bobs and made the whole area more fertile and better for my ganja

of the five auto ak seeds i bred last year and put outside aerly this year, there are now two confirmed females, and one, now dead, confirmed male. an two mia. the others will be showing sex in a week or two or three...

obviously spread another quarter bottle of snail pellets around... spotted a good five or ten dead slugs in the area as i was weeding

the nettle fertilizer was ready, been three or four weeks ish, it fucking stank! i used a stick to pull out the stems of the nettles. then mixed it up to a brown sludgy mess that stank even bloody worse then i poured a tenth of a 5 litre bottle of water around my auto plants and refilled with the nettle fertiliser to dillute it ten water to one fertiliser, ish, the rest i poured around the plants but not right underneath, far enough away, a couple feet, that they wont get the nutes untill theyre bigger and the rain has watered it down into the soil, and so have five litres of nettle fertiliser left for the next few weeks, might start making more next time im there...

the widow skunk seedling never popped above the soil even though it had a tap root on it... but the female white widow and the female blue cheese are doin great at the moment... planning to wait two more weeks or so till i can carry a bag of soil to my spot and give the bc and ww a good half bag each and dig them a nice patch to grow in cos theyre worth a little more effort...

the other seedlings are the bag seed from a great bag of 'skunk' and theyre growing well and healthy an im gonna be going in on a grow with a friend with these(cos i need his help to carry all the shit out to the grow site an need to get him to dig all the soil in and chop down some small shrubs around there etc. bit dodgy sharin a grow!) were gonna get a couple bags of soil and put them in a field we know is fairly safe for them so ill hopefully get half a crop of these too if it turns out lucky an weve chosen a safe spot, slightly not great this spot but should be ok...

then there are the seedlings of a friend i visited yesterday, he had fifteen of my seeds off me from my stash of seeds. hes got about 11 up now, some looking better than others, some smally and most of them are stretchy... but good luck to him with them.

that salvia i showed you all, its got about 11 new small leaves on it, its been loving being sprayed every few days with live air plant food! gonna have another two weeks in that bottle then it will get its own pot methinks. i cut off the one big leaf now as its stem was broken and theres enough leaves n the main plant now i recon, so dry that an toke it down see what happens. dont you just love the square stems on salvia!!

ok been back two deffo girlies and three now dead males. 14 autos left includin the two girls.

dug in some soil for the white widow and the blue cheese plant them soon. also made another grow spot with the 8 remaining bagseeds an 25 litres of potting compost.

im worried about these autos now, they are not going to be ready for before i leave for thailand for two months! im leaving on about the 15th july. so they have a months and a week to show sex and mature, it ent gonna happen, what now!?!? the two flowering now might be smokable by the time i leave but the rest aint! it will be molded away by the time im back at end of september.?!?

been back killed five male autos, got four confirmed female and a few unknown left.

other non auto plants are looking good, but are suffering, a couple were chewed on by deer, many deer prints around...

another major problem is bind weed! its popping up like crazy, it was wrapped around a good few plants the last visit i came and this time was growing up another one, i went around and pulled up around a hundred little shoots of it up yesterday. but its gonna keep coming back. what should i do? was thinking of taking a few bin bags down there and spreadin them on the ground around the plants an holdin them in place with a few clods of soil to cut off the light to all the weeds that keep poppin up, not great for arial stealth but from the ground it wont be seen unless youve already seen the plants...

been to outdoor plot. there was bind weed on every non auto plant, had to carefully unwrap them all of it... black binliners going in next visit...

five flowering autos left. non more to sex. starting to form crystals nicely.
