according to "ed" you can, but im not so sure

most green lights will put out more than just green frequencys, which could possibly be detected by the plant

saying that, not all strains are that sensitive to photoperiod, so you might get away with it, but i wouldnt risk it myself

if you did do it, i'd say make sure the green light is low power, and far away from the plant, and make sure the room outside of the door is pitch black before you open the door

will you even see the plant in green light??? ph34r.gif unsure.gif

I use one in my grow room - they not the best iluminatinon , but won't halm or interfere with your plants 'rythem' especially if flowing when you want to keep light out ('dark as dark')

I also mimimize the need to go in during lights out time and also have a small pocket pen tourch the size of a decent joint.

Hi []D [] []v[] []D

Using normal green bulbs to provide light for inspecting your plants during lights off is not recommended unless you know the exact spectrum of the bulb in question.

There is a company DS Creative, that has produced what they call the Safelite - which is specifically designed to be used in grow rooms - they guarantee that their bulb / set up will not interfere with the plants because the green light produced is at the exact frequency in the spectrum necessary to prevent harm to the plants.

I will keep you posted on it - i think it is to be launched in a few weeks time.

I have a prototype and used it all through my last grow. It was absolutely brilliant. It takes all the inconvenience out of grow room dark periods - and was a life saver when i came back from a weekend away only to discover that my res heater had broken and was stuck on max - the res temp was 31c - glad i didnt have to wait until lights on to deal with it!!!

I can't see what harm would be caused going in with a very small white light - moonlight doesn't stop em flowering, whats a minute or 2 of a small 1.5volt beam going to do? Gotta be better than cooking them at 31C

My grow shop guy says OK and at A$1.75 it allow me to go in and see what i need my little mini-pen torch. 40 W bulbs - 100 w availiable from 'salvinia' - after all there big lighs do very well.

C Meter has red small flasshing indicator to use at night too - tops when u r out working shifts. No ham to my grow using green light 40 W even if I can't see shit but avoid all my leads and check 55lt res level ok
