don't get me started 
cod5 is not worthy of even having the cod title in its name, though if it had of come out before cod4 it would've been a reasonable game.
The only things i do like are co-op and the slightly improved party system, but other than that cod4 shits on it from a great height in every single way
I totally agree whats the point in going backwards with you technology but thats what you get when 2 different companys with the same franchise role on modern warfare 2 cant wait

cod5 is more like a cod4 expansion pack than a new game, it uses the same game engine(modded quake engine), just different maps, skins and the odd tweak here and there ..need to agree cod4 is far superior ..remember how mind blowingly new and absorbing it was the first couple of weeks playing cod4? ..still think a lot of the cod4 maps are better: strike, crash, backlot, crossfire, district, pipline etc ...was playing cod5 weeks before it was available in the shops via hamachi decided not to buy it..thought it was a bit of a rip off ..liked the zombie mode tho and the coop option ..the next joint(I'm hoping) to take gaming to the next level is BF3

i bought cod5 the day it came out after becoming a bit of a pro at cod4 kept it for a day and traded it in as was utter crap loads of glitches dont know if theve been fixed just felt so thrown together and not as absorbing as cod4 roll on modern warfare 2 been posting improvement ideas with the coders at infinity ward heres hope its even better

huge maps, some up to 100 square miles, loads more weapons and loads of diff vehicles and diff aircraft, attack heli's and troop heli's, squad play, commanders, artillery & uav's where ever you want them, loads of free add ons, new maps.

::sry leroy missed your post ther m8, didn't want to say about the pc as peeps do like their consoles, each to their own ..av been trying to convince my lil cuz to sell his ps3, laptop and psp and build a new gaming rig with the money ..he might even have change, especially with the price of gfx cards these days ..you get a lot of bang for the buck ..apart from the price of console games I dont like how they lock everything down on the ps3, i used to have my ps2 games stored on my pc hd and the console would boot the game iso as if it was in the disktray, the console companies stole the idea from the devhackers and included hd's in the next generation but locked the consoles down even more ..pain in the arse and costly
your right once you've played fps on a pc its hard to go back, its just faster.. and the graphics are better(hi res) ...mouse and keyboard are more accurate and intuitive once you get used to them, see how quickly you can hit a small can in the distance with a gamepad compared to a mouse
cod4 on the pc you can see the full server list for the world, you can host your own, every setting can be changed from wall textures, gun skins, nade damage, how many shots to bring down the heli, disable air strikes ..just about anything ...custom maps for free, one server had modded an accurate map of Alcatraz Island ..think it was called 'the rock' ..the other thing about the pc is you can dl and try the games before buying ..might be worth considering when the ps4 comes round
in defense of the console, gta4 is still one of the best games I'v ever played in terms of a complete package, good music and the high speed driving effect was a head of its time it got used in a lot of the other driving games that came after ..like 'midnight club' another excellent console game ..scarface was terrible on the pc ..typical ported game ...there was auto aim and the abilty to see through walls etc available for cod5 pc before you could even buy it in the shops ..the anti cheat system punkbuster is pretty much useless in the face of subscription game hacks and it does get annoying at times when 4 of you come round a corner on one enemy who sneezes and kills all of you without even seeing his muzzle flash or have time to react ..although I'v seen people in cod4 on the ps3 calling in airstrike after airstrike when their kills didn't add up like they had infinite as or something ..but I dont think its as common as the pc

do'ya know i never ever came up against anyone with hacks, every server i joined had the punkbuster on, you couldn't join unless you had punkbuster on,
i've come up against peeps a lot on the console where i actually say to myself "fuck off, there's no way i missed from that distance" and some games i have seen players kicked for 'bad files', never saw that on bf2 on the pc

i like cod 5 zombie mode its the best thats just about all i play i havent played cod 4 for ages im on 8th prestige on that i would add my gamer tag but its got my town name in it so thats a no no

i play on mobile broadband mate it uses surprisingly little band width

I play cod4 on pc. There's really no way to compare cod4 with bf2. cod4 is a much faster game, smaller maps, reminds me of when I played quake2. bf2 seems more tactical. specially the mod I like to play, project reality. after I played PR, vanilla bf2 was ruined for me. you guys should give it a try.
ps. I only play cod4 on hardcore. loads of fun!
