In the middle of planning a little project and was wondering if anyone has used a pollen filter in place of a carbon filter.
Pollen filters fitted to alot of the german stuff has a layer of activated carbon sandwiched between two layers to reduce odour.
They have a lot of surface area propably more than a clindrical type filter due to their wavey design and are relatively cheap. But most impotantly will suit my design perfectly.
If not can anyone suggest a filter that is about 20mm think and 500mm by 70mm

Sorry I am on about the sort of filter fitted to cars if you hadnt guessed
heyboy
good idea

any pics ?

have you ever looked in the boot of a modern car - down low rear wing?

they have an exhaust flap / plastic one way

when you have window open etc it lets air out -

a cheap or free - passive light proof duct

just a thought

Heres the idea. Using kitchen cabinet so space is tight. So decided to utilise the air gap behind the main grow area. Extraction is through the top at the side. The filter sits in the long opening and air is sucked through it from the 4 holes. This would be a passive intake through the gap around the door with light baffles. Might need to work on the intake though.
Im planning to do a lst grow with white widow and smell has to be minimal otherwies I will be in trouble with the misses.

Just under £8 trade price. Had the rest of the materials so has only cost me my time.

Did ok but have to move to the loft when she started to flower. Was only using 2 PC fans so air exchange wasnt good. Dont know how it would have done with a decent fan might experient after my next grow or two starting to get good now
