Hi Djay,

The compost is currently under rigorous testing, early indication is showing it to be a brilliant growing medium. The testers are giving positive feedback, saying that it is currently out performing the other brands they are testing against, so we are happy.

We are constantly working on our recipe to get things right. We are aiming for release June time 2009. This of course can be delayed or it could spin the other way and be released early. We are just aiming to get the medium right prior to the release, this way we will be 100% hand on heart that we believe our product to work and be the best on the market.

Our biggest problem currently is the added rockdust. Each 50L back will contain 1.5kg of rockdust, so as you can imagine, the bags tend to be a bit on the heavy side. We have got around this now though thumbsup.gif

Of course, there used to be a time that peat free mediums would not perform as well as the peat alternative, but with technology evolving and our current ways of thinking urges us all to move on and go as green as we can (no pun intended). Mycorrhiza for instance doe not perform so well in peaty environments, they do however thrive in Loam, which is what our compost contains plenty of wink1.gif

I will keep you all as up to date as I can.

As for the Rockdust. We would like to think it could be available for retail around Easter time. Again, I will keep you all informed smile.gif

Thanks for the reply i have to say i am looking forward to getting some descent compost to use again , all-mix is nothing like it used to be and there aint really a great deal of choice for a true organic compost that performs well.

Cant wait to give em both a try when there out and i can hopefully stop buying this playgron batmix as eco friendly it aint.

Nice one, look forward to this! Let me know if you need any one to be test growers with it! I'd give it a go mate!

Good luck finding the perfect medium!

Agreed, have gone back to all-mix as a test, but gone through 3 bags recently, very varied texture and the last bag had a strange smell, almost nasty but not quite. Looking forward to rocky mix and giving it a test.

u can use rockdust in any soil,it's an additive that goes well with Mycorrhiza fungi.I dont remember the exact "relationship" they share with each other but im sure someone will chime in on that one....

Hi ya

Been looking at the rockdust, can you use it in other soils or is it just for special composts.

like could i add the rockdust to say westlands + soil to give it a mineral boost?

cheers.gif

Yes, as Bang has said, you can use it in any soil or compost. In pots, veggy patches, allotments etc etc it has multitude uses.

It is an excellent tool to re-mineralize your veggy patch for instance, putting back into the dirt many important trace elements and minerals we as human beings need to lead a perfectly healthy life smile.gif

Thanks to Plant Magic and their giveaways, i will be receiving some of your rockdust and granules. I was wondering if Plantmagic would mind If I created a comparison thread using the products with 1 plant against another?

Very excited ive never used a product like this before.

Congrats on winning cool.gif

With regards to the comparison, please feel free. Peeps have already shown a comparison with using the Essence so to be able to show something else is cool smile.gif

Be sure to use the Granules in the same pot as you use the RockyDust in, this will allow the Mycorhiza to absorb, break down and feed to your plant all the trace elements the RockyDust holds thumbsup.gif

Best of luck yinyang.gif

There are plenty of places to buy this online, if you're waiting to start a grow with it or something, don't.

Edit: that sounds bad, support Plant Magic if you can, I'm just saying there's no need to wait.
