what light you got there? fluoro tube or something??

if its cool running i'd put it abit closer if i were you... stretching quite abit! fluoros lose their light intesity after several inches.

good way to judge whether light is too close... if you can keep the top side of your hand under it for a while without it feeling uncomfortable hot.

Yesterday we decided to go bak and check up on the lemon plants at the river side plot after all that heavy rain the other night.

We decided too go off trail from are originall plot and we found two basically perfect plots i fink i got pics of the second plot but not the first 1...

As u get to the end it turns to the right which looks like this.....

The main reason we found this plot is that we spotted this plant from quite far away... it was just growing in the middle of a huge stingig nettle patch????

any1 no wat it is? from far away it looked like a small bushy weed plant

This is the water supply for now.... it gets deeper but it most probably will dry out over summer...

Sheesh, those look like kamakazi slugs!! You need to spread the pellets over a wider area man, set upa line of defence 2 foot away from the stems, and just use less near the plants. Soon you will have killed off the local population. No sluggies during final stage.

Both slug pellets and dead slugs attract more slugs. I once knew a gardner who swore the best thing to do with slug pellets is put them in your neighbours garden! Your best bet is to put copper tape around the stem, and then a barrier of grit/eggshells/sawdust/. Slug pellets are okay but loose effectivness when wet (but dont loose the scent which attracts slugs) so your better off putting them in an empty soup can laying on its side a few feet away from your plant. And emptying them when you visit and replacing the pellets. The other bonus is that birds dont eat the poisoned slugs which is good for ya Karma!

Could be fire weed(rosebay willowherb), Grows to 5 ft ish, pink flowers. Very common on recently reclaimed sites, Called fire weed because it grew on the bomb sites during the blitz.

At this time of tear the birds are feeding there young, poisend slugs are not the tasty snacks the young want. ( no worse than mc d's for human young!)
When i plant outdoors I clear the area around the plant and trimm the lower branch of the plant. i then use the top 4 inches of a 10 inch pot to surrond the plant. This worked last year and is working this year. I planted two bahia black heads out in secluded spots at the start of april both 4 ft with stems the size of my thumb.
