hello all, whats the best type of casing to put a maplins variac, ie metal plastic bakerlite etc.

Assuming it fits, an old computer power supply case would be good, the type that also has a socket for the monitor. I used one to house a solid state mains controller, makes a neat job. Plug the usual kettle lead in for the input mains and I wired a monitor socket to a £shop extention lead for the output.
