Hi, cracked 5 killers....

at the same time cracked 5 biddy's sister, and 14 BigSurHolyWeed crosses.....

The HolyWeed crosses all showed nice clear preflowers, and I've got 8 out of 14 are girls....yaaayyyy!!

The Biddy's didn't show sex until 5-7 days into 12/12, but I've got 3 out of 5 are girls....

The Killers, my healthiewst strongest one showed male preflowers, the others are just showing now after a week 12/12, and all seem to be male!!!! Not good, I'm giving them a few more days to be sure, and they not just funny shaped preflowers, but I pretty sure got 5/5 males.....

I dunno if environmental factors played a part, I did start off with the whole room too cold...but I wouldn't have thought the cold could turn 5/5 male so easily.....

I know everyone else seems to be getting very high female/male ratios, so I'm guessing i just very unlucky, and all the females already gone out......

I'm disappointed, but I know 've got enough other strains coming through to keep me happy for this grow, so it's not the end of the world..

Just the luck of the draw mate, once popped a pack of 10 Sensi NL that were all male.

At least you've got other stuff on the go.

i though killer skunk was £50 a packet?
so thats £10 per seed?

i know that once you got the genetics its all good and most pay over £50 for seeds (though usually atleast 10, 15 if from mr nice)
just heard alot of people say before that they wouldnt pay more than £5 a seed, so naturally sounds to me like the seeds are overpriced to a certain degree (though nothing like £120 for sensi g13, jack herer and a few others)
just thought ud be getting 10 seeds in the KS packets, especialy since its kinda mainstream now to get 10 seeds a pack.

As far as price is concerned, they ain't overpriced from the results I've seen....

Even if I'd got one keepable female for 50 squid, with all the potential cuttings, that is a bargain....

Seeds do seem expensive, but when you think of their future yield as mums they ain't so bad....

And getting males is just one of them things, it's never happened to me before now, I've had seeds in the past mainly females, so had to happen one day I suppose, just like one day the lottery numbers will actually be 1,2,3,4,5,6......

Anyway the price is academic as the 5 seeds were donated to me by a fellow grower, I'm gutted, no more or less gutted than if I'd paid for them though, it's just one of those things....

I don't know if the KS on sale come in packs of 5 or 10, so couldn't comment on that point...


If you want to be sure, buy more pricey femmed seeds, but you're taking a chance then when it comes to keeping mums....

iv had 2 fem from 4 seeds

i had a pack of sensi seeds skunk no 1 15 beans and not one of them sprouted

can you remember the guy who won the chocalate chunk indica and got 9 boys and one non sprouter

It does happen i crack alot of seeds but i do get half fems 99% of the time.

Lucky probably, just done 10 seeds now all different strains and 6 were male so i got 4 fems small bushy fems at that.

3 Kush mixed and a skunky afghan fem.

Did have 5 just put one in the bath because i dont like killing nice lookin plants but its male i am sure.

Did get 5 fems from 8 test seeds of KS...

With the males i get the fan leaf stem is longer is that so the pollen can drop down easy without hitting fan leaves??

Hmmmm, as I said, not 100%, but over 90%..

Gonna give them a few more days see if any pistil pops out.......as you said mate, it's nature, this time I've been unlucky, but I've been lucky with my other beans, so swings and roundabouts, maybe it wasn't meant to be.....

They did look very very healthy indeed, nice lush growth, and the roots! the roots! amazing......will break me heart when i finally have to give up on the pistils and bin them.....

Yeah Captain Stoner, it's a nice idea, but not really practical with my set up...not got space for seperate flower area....

And yeah, sublime, know what you're saying putting one in the bath, I near enough certain they are males, but tehy still in there, just waiting till the truth is staring me so hard in the face I have to chop em....

I've just cracked 5 killer seeds, hope i dont get the same result..

Had a good look at them again last night, still lookin male, all of them, give them a few more days, might sprout a couple of pistils, but don't think so now, lookin like boys still, still holdin out for a break, but think I missed out on these KS....

Hoping for greatness from my Biddy's Sistera, Holy Smiles, and a solitary Holy Diesel......had 1 Pure, but he's looking like a boy too.....

OPG you will be fine I'm sure, nobody else can have such misfortune.....

But FORTUNATELY, my Biddy's sisters are FOUR females, not 3...so 4/5 on them is pretty good.....

The solitary Pure was a male.....
So final count...

7 Holy Smile
1 Holy Diesel
4 Biddy's Sister.

I started with 24 seedlings, so overall I got 50/50 males and females, just unlucky none of the killers made it as females....

Hey mono, hopefully you still have a few more Killer seeds left to get a girl or two. I have just confirmed that out of four of my Killer Skunks only one is a girl. The male plants look amazing and very compact but they are heading for the organic waste bin as we speak. still got six seeds left to play with...

Naah, that was it, I only had 5 to start with

I did take cuttings though before I'd sexed and binned the males, and I think the healthiest one I might plant a couple of clones outdoors to harvest some pollen later in the summer.......Like you say they seem so healthy and compact and lush it seems a shame to waste them.....

If you already got 3 males out of 4 I reckon your other 6 seeds have a good chance of being girld for you....
