sort of on a budget this will be 1st grow any suggestions on some quality bud, a little forgiving, good for a smallish shed with nice yeilds if you've got any suggestions im interested in knowing the approx dry weight off each plant that you have got in personal experiances. Also if anyones grown femmed seeds before whats the likelyhood of hermaphroditis occuring. If I mess this up could be a piece crippling financially but i've done my homework so to speak naughty.gif
im thinking nirvana whats the general opinion of this bank and which seeds are the best from these if anyone got experiance of growing a few of there genetics.

Nirvana are quality beans for the £. I found bigbud a good yeild and easy to grow. Remember mate get your environment right and the quantity will increase. wink.gif

thanks widowman and us
i should also have mentioned i may have smell issues as i dont think i will be able to afford carbon filter plus all those intake outake fans the shed is in my back garden sortof connected to the house, i dont know if the smell would bait me out cos i have never grown before, i guess the issue is really here would a stinky plant smell carry to the street on the otherside of the house. Would it be too risky to grow skunk1 without some kind of pricy odour control? (also they look pretty hard to set up)

good chance of smell problems fella. carbon filters are easy to set up but are expensive (better than getting busted though.

probably should have described the place a bit more cos i really cant workout how i would set one of those up the walls of the shed are brick so its not really a typical garden shed its got one window so what would i do remove the glass pane and have the carbon filter direct air out of there and if so how would i get fresh air to come in if all the walls of it are brick? i was sort of hoping to just have an oscilating fan and regularly open the window, (control odour with fabreeze or some shit but i guess that plans out now) but then im not sure that would be good eithr cos surely the window would need to be covered with mylar or some other equivilant.. anyway just realized i was deviating from the topic of strains quite alot there, Back on strains fem seeds? is it worth going down that route cos although more expensive it would surely gaurantee some females my worst nightmare would be all males coming up out of the sucessful germinations at preflower, well that and my house getting raided by jakes over a few meager plants
Kheaz
actualy forget the whole odour thing ill ask in another thing in a relevant place just got concerned for a bit there just reply concernig the original post

i use fem seeds with no worries

anybody tried Barney's farm femminized seems like good prices if its pretty much guaranteed 5 females cos i may end up with more females in the end than with 10 regular seeds. Anyone know a better deal for female seeds and specifically which strains. Anotherthing anyone grown budget seeds and really expensive seeds and noticed a large difference in quality or are they overhyping them cos say for example some bank got northern lights for £20 for 10 seeds i have seen other northern lights for way way more how can they justify the price if its the same genes?

just looked at these sound like a great choice to be honest, you got a grow diary on these? anyone else tried these

is it very problematic to try 2 strains in the same smallish area im talking like 0.9mX1.5ish the ceiling is slanted which is pretty annoying but seems to be a fair amount of height

its easier doing just one strain especially till you have got the hang of growing, try going for an easy strain to start (skunk is easy enough) some strains are much harder to get right than others.

ye skunk sounds pretty good too to be honest just round my area the name has been bastardized by the media and dealers now call almost anything with a light green hue skunk so it souns really run of the mill everyday type stuff even if it is a great option which it seems to be. Is it sativa or indica dominant?

the shit you can buy does not taste anything like the skunk you can grow, home grown will knock your head off.

Nirvana cant go far wrong for the money, but all theirs i've finished have been a bit smelly. lowest odour to best yeild i've had was dutch passions Mazar, easy grow as well, can tolerate a bit of abuse. Dont bother the extra money for feminised especially for first grows, too much stress and they hermie and thats a pain in the arse. Best to take your chances and get a real girl

say i was to buy a filter for the smell how much are we talking if im doing that i may aswell sort the circulation properly what sort of price would all that cost cos you need the fans and ducting too right? and dont they need to be replaced sounds like it would double the price i was intending on spending

try looking at greens (find one of joolz's posts there is a link at the bottom)

I got a carbon filter on fleabay for £12 and a 5inch inline extraction fan off an online retailer for £40.
No smell at all! You'll need extraction anyway so the extra £15 for a cf isn't all bad.

Also, i'd suggest nirvana seedbank, i recently purchased ICE from them for £14 for my next grow stoned.gif .

not even sure theres enough room for a carbon filter and all that stuff in the room how do most people sort air circulation an odour in closet/shed sized grows, ive seen the size of these things i really cant imagine them fitting in there isnt it dangerous to run all this stuff through two plug sockets with a multi-sockets plugged in (i mean with a hps light too plus maybe even a radiator if necarssary dont know what the temp will be like with the lights on in there, by the way where are you getting the nirvana seeds for that price i thought they cost more?

i used to grow in my outhouse shed a few years back with a 400 watt halide. every time i went in the smell was over powering, even in veg.
where i live now i wouldn't do it. but where i lived theft was more a problem than the police. cold is dealt with by lights on at night, but a lot of my plants suffered from leaf spot fungus.
maybe enviros and a few fans are the answer.
oh and i grew papaya, sensi mexican and skunk 'adequately'.
find a way and do it. you might not get optimum yields but you can be self-sufficient
good luck
