i am using grean dream 1 single part nutrients to great effecti understand tht they have a favorable mix compared o two part nutrients because they use slurry technology my question is are there other brands of one art nutes that also enploy the use of slurry technologiy to gain a good balance of all the correct nutrient
plus i would like to know if other people have found any great single part hydro nutrients i have also found that the grean dream nutrient is extreemly ph stable i would like any other brand to be ph stable

Hi - first grow and first post, and was just looking for a little advice on nutes for a small hydro grow. I have a 250W Planastar Dual spectrum in a cool tube in a grow cabinet with 1/2 Metre squared grow area, with around 3 foot of height. The hydro system is a home-made aeroponics setup in a 50L plastic crate (which i may add an air stone to at some point). It's 25cm high and I have five 3" net pots slotted into the holes that I've cut, so around 35 litres when the water's at pot level. I'm going try it first with lowryder II, and add a scrog screen if it's looking dodgy height-wise.

What I'm slightly confused about is the nute schedule - after quite a bit of googling and talking with other growers I'm still not sure who's advice to follow. I read things like 'in a aero/bubbler you should only feed 1/3 strength nutes', and 'no nutes for the first two weeks'. These comments are not specific to lowryder II, but i clearly want to do the right thing and not kill my plants by overfeeding, but also don't want to starve them.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

BTW I live in London with tap water at PH 8.2 and EC 0.3, so hard as nails I guess

Ive used it in nft mate a few years ago without any real hassles grow/bloom & boost easy enough to understand.

From what I remember tho the instructions on the bottle was something like 7ml per litre..that was way too much.

I even used .5ml of grow along with bloom in flower that helped with any nitrogen problems.

The boost was added at week 5 for one week...this took the ec reading up,but seemed to work.

So,yeah give it a go.

yes definatly 1/3 ec so ec 0.6 is the absoulute highest you can go and most of the time you dont want to go over ec 0.4 with any cannabis plant but you want to read the plant if you can tell me what your waters ec is to start with i should be able to help more and any plant with roots needs feeding in a hydroponic situation but in your 35 liters add no more than 5 mls nutes to start with but id probably only use three mls 1 1/2 a and same b
kung fu
same here, i used it in an 8pot wilma and found 7ml to be a bit potent for my plants.

Keep your ph levels between 5.5 - 6.2 and you wont go far wrong. Just remember to take them daily and after youve put the nutes in.

Goodluck.

Thanks for the reply - my water out of the tap to start with has an EC of 0.3, so I guess this means I'm going to have to play it pretty safe with the nutes. Should I use 5mls during the propagating stage also, or just use it when the roots emerge fro the rockwool?
I don't understand what you mean at the end of your last sentence though - when you say a and b are you referring to a two part nutrient product? I'm actually considering using Canna Hydro as I hear the hard water version is very good in London

yes that is what i mean about a two part nutrient.and yes you are going to have to play it safewith the feeding i do the same 1/3 ec thing in my nft system and its a bit tricky but its ok if you find canna not stabel enough try the green dream 1 part nutes they work for me in my hard water on low ec. also yes wait untill the clone has rooted befor feeding
