Evenin guys n gals and welcome to the first installment of BFM's 09 diary.
You'll notice the title of my thread and maybe wonder what the "new tactics" are? Well it comes down to the theft last year and how much of an area was compromised. So with this in mind i'm just going to take 2 plants out a day and spread them totally at random in a much wider area ie into neighbouring counties. I'm not fixed on numbers as yet but i'll defo be doing bigbud and if a trade goes off then some manley mazar cross. Along side this i have a greenhouse grow to set up for someone and the same person has informed me of a spot close to a stream he used to grow at, but hasn't for years. So thats really the only main site i'll have. The strain for this site and the greenhouse will be cyber crystal. I'd not heard of it before but this chap's getting a cut and that will be cloned. I'll also be purchasing some BCN-Diesel seeds thanks to Marcos' directions-cheers mate.

For the random planting or plant and piss off system i'll just take 2 plants out at about 8-12 inches tall dig a hole, mix compost with soil and perlite and lime, plant, water, cage and copper tape up and leave to nature. come back in 4 months to see hats there. I expect thefts, deaths and consumption by animals/insects. This is why i'm planting so many so far apart. I also expect to bring in a lot more than normal but as i've not popped a bean yet i'll not count any chickens.

I won't be taking ANY photos of locations this time round only of plants at various stages. Also, as i won't be visiting many of these plants regularly,if at all i shouldn't get followed and robbed! I'll only think about visiting IF we get the fantastic summer we've been getting the past 3 years lol.gif
So until i start popping in a couple of weeks i'll wish everyone all the best for the coming season. May much sun shine on our beloved herb! Adios

Good luck fella. Hope it works out clover.gif
My Mate Dave
Ive got a similar plan m8, im gonna take 24 cuts or so every two weeks from late april till late june and plant them out in random locations as soon as they are rooted, then note down the gps details and leave them to it, my only aim is to get exercise on my mountain bike - any results are just a bonus!, good luck with it m8. wink1.gif
Mab Glyndwr
Good luck fella and I hope for all our sakes the great growlight in the sky gets turned on this year thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

You here this Marcos. Feck goes your recommendation lol.gif . Don't even know if i'll have the cash for them yet CM! Got other stuff to fill the gap FOC though mate wink1.gif . BTW folks, the cyber crystal cuts that were doing the main site and greenhouse grows are now white widow, so feck knows what will happen. All i know is, if we have a good summer for a change then we could plant most strains in half right ground and get a good return(unless some scumbag finds it before you crop). All the best gang.
I'll have some pics of the bubble that came from the bigbud in previous pics in a few days yum yum..sticky and black is all i'll say smile.gif

Hello one and all. Just here to say that i forgot to take the bubble pics as i was too stoned lol.gif . Anyway, today i've paper towelled 10 bigbud seeds. Got some bits to get now ready for them showing their taps. Lets get this show on the road.
TicTacToe
I started off some Church last night. They've popped already! Good luck BFM! wink1.gif
barefoot master
Update 13/03/09

After the failure of the soaking in glass method all 10 of the Bigbud seeds cracked with the good old paper towel method in 2 DAYS! I think they've been on the plate for 4/5 days now and a couple of the tap roots are 2 inches long. They'll all be getting potted up in the morning, then the next 10 will be put on towel on monday. This way i should get a couple of weeks growth between each batch and aid in the way i'll be planting. Instead of having 50/100 plants all at the same age and in need of planting at the same time, i'll have a staggered planting by which i can do 10/20 plants a week and only have 5 weeks difference in natural growth(depending on random sites obviously).
I've still got a couple of other strains i'm waiting on but they wont be long and will get popped on arrival.

And for anyone watching from last year expecting me to make the same mistakes, i'll be driving before walking anywhere. So your search has suddenly got a lot wider!!!

Love and Light to all fellow Guerilla Growers

I'm well and truly seated, and tucking into this thread. Happy 09 Br Barefoot Master, an inspiring start to the season. I've got good feelings about this summer, it won't be a scorcher, but better than last 2 years...

Cars are best, my browsing took me around 80 miles north of home today, 80 bloody miles!! All because i found motorbike tracks near my site.

barefoot master
cheers sticky, nice to see you getting settled in mate. Can't promise lots of pics or loads of detail this time round but hopefully the content shall be positive. Thanks to everyone else for looking in and good luck.

happy new 2009 bfm .. ph34r.gif .. funny about germing .. i always used the paper towle method before with very good results .. decided to pop the seeds in compo in seed tray in heated prop this time unsure.gif .. hmmm we'll see .. good luck with your 2009 mission fella and may all thieves of the gange rot at the gates of hell 13.gif yinyang.gif
weedineed
looking top notch mate. will be poping back in soon so keep us updated
barefoot master
Alright Smeagol, good to see you around again mate and welcome weedineed, pull up something comfy it could be a bumpy ride lol.gif
Right, quick update.
All Bigbud seedlings are doing fine in their coldframe. Think this is helping as they're not shooting up like they do when i start them on the windowsill. I'll be paper towelling the micheal manley/ mazar crosses on tuesday then some more Bigbud in a fortnights time. Not had funds to buy any of the other strains i wanted, but then again i've got enough on my hands with what i have already.
Regarding the main site, this will be dug over in a few weeks time as it's still not quite green enough not to get noticed from a distance. For those of you that will say i've put no effort into this site and the lack of ground prep will effect results, this site has been used twice in the past and so all the hard work has already been done. Just a general tidy and a forking of the ground and it's ready for planting. Off out for a drive this arvo to check a couple of spots now that spring is kicking in. Should be good as i've checked public footpath records for the area in question and there are none for at least a mile around the perimeter, so i'm looking forward to seeing this one.
Anyway, till the next time

Hi there BFM, do you have any paticular tactics when selecting a spot? i'm looking to do something similar to you, but every time I go driving/walkabout I manage to convince myself that the area/spot is too busy or would be found, etc. I live properly in the countryside but it's still hard to find a decent spot.

Thanks

Alright Ben. Simple answer is NO. Thats why i'm doing so many this year, as i expect deaths, thefts and munching. If i just harvest 5 out of 50 i'll be happy. Just don't plant next to footpath mate. If you don't have loads of seeds to germ like me then i'd just be a bit more selective in planting spots but i'm just gonna do single plants all over the place.
Best of luck Ben

Bfm... glad to see your still growing

Update. 7 bigbud and 9 mike manleyxmazar have gone out on there own. Had to do some driving as they all live in different spots. Some closer, which shall get more attention and some further afield that will be left in the capable hands of Lady Gaia An'Anasha yinyang.gif No photos i'm afraid, not until harvest at least! Got some lowrider crosses in the post for a mid summer smoke too.
Love and Light to you all

quick update. one male mike manley x mazar pulled and composted. Other 8 are not performing the best in size although 6 are confirmed girls and the other 2 not sure. out of 7 bigbud 1 passed on and 6 survive. All are doing ok and 4 have shown to be girls. I did keep another one back at home when these all went out and i popped on into an old plastic swinglid bin. This went out it's final resting place 2 nights back. This one just went crazy and was already nearly as big as the my biggest finisher last year when it went off! I do have a pic of it before so i may break my own rules and show you all whistling.gif Although that'll be ya last till anything comes down. For now thats all folks

the pics make it, otherwise some cynics might argue the whole thread is bullshit. bogus.
a few pics ain't gonna alert people to your plot, not if you keep surroundings out of pic as much as possible.
stop being paranoid and show us the goods.

No ones going to argue the threads bogus, some people just dont feel the need to show, everyones characters are different,if he doesnt want to compromise thats cool, the important thing is the end result, none of us are growing to look cool on an internet forum,we all have totally different agendas ph34r.gif Save your pics for the end days BFM ph34r.gif Your the one on the ground, your the one who knows the situation.

@bp. Sound advice. The man on the ground does indeed know best. Nice pics by the way mate. I'm up on the solway coast for week. So a can only see the pictures on my phone so qualitys poor. You gonna send me the directors cut lol.gif

yeah, but then most growers that wish to keep things low, secure if you will, don't start a thread . by all means keep it quiet but why go through the business of doing a thread,if you think pics might compromise your security?
that was my point
regardless i hope you do ok BFM, i really do. i just think that with no pics a journal is not complete
iamafunkimunki
I would sort of agree with that also. A diary is made in the pictures imo. I tried to not use pictures but its less of a pleasure to do so i just couldn't resist. But in the end security is paramount

Seriously who would go to the trouble of making a fake grow diary? And even if they did why would it matter?

If i choose to not show pics at this stage then thats my call. Maybe i just have shit plants out and i'm too embarrassed to show lol.gif And a complete diary it will be when i hopefully post pre-chop and harvest shots.

And another. I'd bent the lower branches a day or 2 before hand to let some more light into the middle as she's a fat lass lol.gif. You can't quite make it out but it's in one of those metre high swinglid bins. Would have been a right sight if i'd been seen walking this thing down the lane on a sack barrow at half 3 in the mornin lol.gif. Not been back since she went out just over a week ago. Shall give her a bloom feed and a little grow in a fortnight as she had a good feed before moving.
Hope this satisfiys the doubters on the forum?
