I am currently re-vegging 2 ESB and 2 Cheese in my sheds small veg cupboard. The light in the cooltube over the girls is a 400w MH and above that is a 125w enviro.
I was basically gonna split the room horizontally where you can just see 2 shelf like struts and totally block all light from the seedling area at the top to the lower with the enviro on 24/7. The lower 400w runs for only 20hrs a day.
My question (thanks for bearing with me ) is if I were to only put a few slats across, then would the going from a 400w just inches away to a shaded enviro 4ft above cause any problems.

The ESB's at the front have really exploded into life but the Cheese is really dragging it's heels, is that to be expected?

Get the enviro nice and close and I don't see why there should be a problem, obviously they'd prefer the MH but needs must and all that.

Hi Wb,
The enviro is staying where it is as there will be seedlings/cuttings going under it, the MH is on 20hrs a day so the girls are soaking that up. I just wondered if during the 4hrs the MH is off they could still benefit from the albeit small amount of light from the enviro way up above.
Or will this cause them more stress as they've already been through hell - 3rd week of flower all power off for 12days, temps down to -2c and just for good measure thrips

They are all veggin yeah? They'll receive very little lumens with the enviro being so far away but I can't see any harm in it, If anything its just replicating light summer/full moon nights.

I read about your little "Incident" the other day, fuck they're a hardy owld plant.
