We all know ( or we should ! ) that our ideal nutrient solution in our tanks should be constantly maintained at around - imo - 19/22 degrees C, this is because the nutrients are more readily available to our lovely ladies . . .
The normal recomendations to attain the ideal temp are, to either use nutrient heaters ( with intergrated thermostats ) or heat mats however after years of growing I still encounter numerous headaches using the afore mentioned. The heaters sometimes burn up or crack and break up,( before anyone mentions it -I'm aware that water levels need to be regularly monitered and kept above the tubes ) and sometimes the element just blows. I 've even broken the " unbreakable " ones !!! As for the heat mats, all the ones I have come across are SHITE ! On top of this when working in a multi- tank system, wiring is cluttered and valuble sockets are taken . . .
A few years ago,in my grow shop, I came across a contraption that had a main control unit(thermostat) with eight long lengths of wire with a metal element on each end (so as to place this end in the tank )however my man at the shop sent them back claiming they were dodgy and unreliable, but something like this could help me greatly. . . So please has anyone out there any alternative remedies, tips, recomendations or suggestions ?
