Got this from my grow shop a few months ago and received my electricity bill and my unit usage has doubled compared to previous quarters and last year! I think this new light is the culprit. Has anyone else had similar experience? It has two long double bulbs with the text 'PLL 55W 6400K' on the end bits. Thanks.

that won't double your electricity use .....unless you only using 110w throughout the rest of the house

i can fart more than 110w of power
electricity prices have gone up.....maybe worth changing your supplier

no chance mate. 110watt cfl light that isnt it?? only chance that has of doubling your leccy bill is if you were only running 110w before, over the same time your light is on, which cant be right for a normal house surely.

I had a 250W envirolight before god knows then

I was well suprised when I got my bill hopefully it was a one off but I cant put my finger on it and this light is the only thing I can think of.

Thanks for the help.

Refer back to your old bills and check whether there's been a change in the price per KwH. That would answer the price increase idea.

just a guess but.......
is it possible you received an estimated metre reading previously and then received a metred reading? i ask this as it's possible that previous bills were under-estimated and then you've been hit with a larger than expected bill when you metre was read?
