Hi Guys! I started growing some thai strain that's crossed with skunk and I'm not too happy so far. They plants are about 4 weeks into bloom and there's barely any sign of flowering - I have another strain in there (just the one plant) and the difference is substantial. The thai girls just keep growing and I have to keep cutting them down so they'll fit in my room. Has anyone else's patience been tested by thai sativa?

seen some threads of people growing thai skunk crosses on another forum, if they are anything to go by 4 weeks in, is nothing you looking at at least another 10 /12 weeks maybe more.

i remember the first time i grew an thai hybrid, luckily for me i put it in a 7 l pot as it hit 2 metres in the first 4 weeks of flowering then stopped growing up and slowly but surely buds grow and fatten and fatten, just be patient they are worth the wait.

Hello there,

Im growing thia-tanic from flying dutchmen- a thai crossed with skunk, she is 7 weeks flowering today..says 9-11 weeks but think mine will be going to about 10-12. On the other hand, she is only about 1.5ft, Shes a stinker though tongue.gif

Check out the diary.. latest updates yesterday.
Good luck on choice!

thanks for the reassurance guys. i don't think i have the patience for these strains though - will go with something else in the future.

i have dabbled a fair bit the last year with thai. they have NEVER been anywhere near finished by 10-11 wks. any that do i would suggest are crosses, or an 'early' pheno.
some have looked almost indica in appearance compared to others, but the time of flowering is still about the same. allow 12-16 wks if you have the patience .

Hi dem_tweeds,
a few years back I tried Skunkmans O Haze x Skunk1...indoors it was tough, but outdoors she was fabulous and yielded a kilo of dried mango thai flowers.
Thai, thai hybrids, and Equatorial Sativas in general, need to Grow Big in order to produce the high quality flowers they would if grown in their natural environment, they need to flower for months at a time...
and require months to start once they have been induced indoors with low photo periods for bloom set.
use less hours of light and total darkness to induce the bloom set...
try 11.5 on and 12.5 off...and decrease light from there ,slowly, maybe 15 minutes every 10 days,
never going less than 10 hours of light.
you cannot rush a long flowering plant just because you have grown impatient,
if in a hurry, stick to faster indoor hybrids F1,

also make sure you have excellent ventilation and keep temps lower, this will help some with stretch and leaf droop, also be wise of the feeding requirements in bloom.

patience is a virtue

good growing
