I have come to see LST or topping or SOG (or perhaps SCROG) as being essential for efficiency indoors - leaving plants to do their own thing is a luxury most of us cannot afford.

Personally, growing as I do from unsexed seed, I love the LST method I have ended up with - lets me veg for 8 weeks in a relatively short space with low power lamps.

If you fill in your profile it would help. smile.gif

LST'ing is the greatest! Its the Bee's Knee's.
I highly recommend it. I've just tried this method myself with incredible results. I've thus vegged a plant for 4 months, taken multiple cuttings (clones) from her... and she's more than ready for her turn to flower. --Now when she does go to flower.. she'll have many multiple budsites, and be a very happy yielder I believe. All this and all I had to do was tie her down a little... Benefits are huge.
Supercropping and Topping are also both methods I recommend.
Best of luck mate!

When I used to gro i would grab the top node as it was appearing and bend it of to an angle to the left that would result in more main stalks. I think LST is about the same except the hasslae of snapping bits of your plants. ReverendRFB that thing musta been huge i dont plan to veg for more then 5 weeks at the most 3 at the least.

Could anyone tell me how much of a bigger yield you would get with LST compared to just a normal sprout

Also could anyone recommend me 2 good strains prefferably feminized im sure you have all heard of a site where you can buy single seeds and thats what i inten to do

Thanks for the replys guys

Hello again..
Actually.. its not too big. Its still growing, you could see it in my 'love trainwreck' link at the bottom of my post. the stem is fat, but its not as big as I thought it would have been. -Then again its been cut down for clones a few times..

to answer your question about LST vs normal sprout, I would guess at an initial 25-40% gain in yield... but wait for an expert on that one. The real key is how long you veg it for... regardless of the method. (as I'm slowly learning) But topping a plant, in my opinion, seems to always yield more than a regularly sprouted plant left to go at its own pace.

Two recommended strains?
Northern Lights & White Widow
White Rhino & Great White Shark
Lemon Skunk & Trainwreck
