I've reached the 12/12 light cycle and I'm not doing as well as I'd like turning the lights on manually. So......where is the best place(Stateside) to get a contactor. I just went to Home Depot, and they told me I needed to find an Electrical Supply house for that. Maybe some place online?

One other question....Are these hard to hookup? Is this a matter of just plugging things in....or am I having to wire something? And how much do they usually cost? Its for a 400wMH. Thanks for any consideration.........

your talkin about a timer aint you? you wont need to wire anythin,you set your on/off times,plug it into a sockett and then plug in your light/extract etc etc and that you.they obviously vary to manufacturer but there easy to get a hold of,just hit ebay m8 and youll be right as rain,couple of quid

a contactor is recomended for any hps or mh ballast, digital ballasts have a softer start up so you dont need one , if you dont use a contactor with a timer then they can fuse & thats how house fires are caused.

on feabay there are these contactor/timers. all in one jobby. real cheap too, good if your only ever gonna use one light

Hey thanks for the input......yeah, its just one light. And if I can get 'em E-bay, that it'll be easier--cause there aint no Hydro-shop in this town....Again thanks for all the input.....

Just a small word of caution. If you buy grow stuff off ebay, see if you can use someone elses ID and don't get it delivered to the grow address.
