I have just got a new pc with xp pro installed,im having the same problem i had a while back with my old system,when im on the net using firefox the browser hangs,i have to go to task manager and just close it again for the browser to respond,i have tried clearing the history,cookes ect but it's still the same

im using avg security suite but i doubt thats the problem,had no problems with it in the past.

any ideas??

Never used AVG myself, but it's firewall is probably blocking Firefox. Check AVG's Firewall is set to allow Internet access to Firefox. Are you using Firefox 3? Is XP fully updated? Good luck

my m8 had the same thing..... could it be your antivirus is scaning the pages b4 opening them....
turn off anti phishing filter
