I have normally grown organically, non feminized plants from seeds, like Belladonna, Cinderealla 99, Northern Lights Big Bud, etc, and have ran out of seeds.
My last harvest yieldeed a male, and I only have one airy budded female c99.

I am thinking of going into the autoflowering seeds, as I hate the wait for the gender, and I am using all this wattage for only one plant.

My questions are:
  • What would be the good seeds for someone who likes a trippy, but chilling high, like belladonna or C99.
  • Is there anything different to consider, potting wise, i.e. do you pot on as normal.
  • What light cycle do you use
  • Where is a reliable, quick and cheap vendor.

I have tried to do a search, but not really having more than vague search terms, and being blighted with no attention span, this has proved time consuming, with little learning, which is the reason for this post.

All advice/links would be welcome.
thanks in advance.

My advice would be don't bother with autoflowering strains. The yield is shit, the high is below average and you still have all the problems with weeding out males except that they flower when they want not when you want.

why would you want to go from growing such nice strains to growing such crap anyway? Your much better off finding a nice mother and growing from clone every time

With something like LR2 its best not to pot on & start in 6-10L pot from start. Light cycle can be 18/6 or 20/4 from start to finish.

I expect about 1oz a plant but would not be as nice as the strains you mention, still much better than any dealer weed I have bought.

I stay away from feminised seeds too because of hermi issues (bad experience)

there is auto lemon skunk on the seedsman now,i would give that a go our the ak47,although u could train a non auto plant to around the same height an get a much better yield

Thanks for all the advice.
I didn't realise autoflowering had as many drawbacks.

Another thread on here says its ok to clone in flower, so I may cut off a couple of the bottom shoots on my one lady, the ones not getting light, and clone them.

I may reveg her.

I'm not sure if the one I have left is bella or cyntha, from the lemony smell, I think its cynthia.
thanks again.

Thanks for this, I still plan to grow nice strains, but the info above is useful, because I don't wanna get involved with buying it off the street anymore, but want to avoid a gap of no smoke, whilst I am waiting for the better strains to veg and flower into good buds.

I know its only a few weeks wait with no bud, but being me, thats a long wait.

Its sort of a stop gap, and a general curiousity.

I wondered what you would do about the pots, and could see how it would be best not to keep changing pots, given the different way they grow, times etc.

I never revegged the plant as I intended to, as once again, there was hardly any buds on her by the time she was harevstable blushing.gif
Extrme cold temps and light leaks, plus only having one female meant low yield, so even 1oz or half oz is an improvement, even though the quality is not so good as the strains ive grown.
I never bought any more posh strains, but have got a few jack herer donated to me, to try. smile.gif
I used to mix shadeleaf with the bud of strong strains anyway, so with the lowryder, I wont need to mix in leaf.

Is seedsman a UK vendor?

thanks again, all - much appreciated.

Here's the ones I chose in the end

Genetics: New York City Diesel x Lowryder #2
Variety: sativa/indica/ruderalis
Type: Stabilized hybrid
Harvest Date: 9 weeks from seed
Flowering Period: 6+ weeks
THC Content: 17-19%
Characteristics: Resinous, tasty auto-flowering authentic strain.

I liked the idea of a highish thc content.

Iv got some Auto Grate White Shark on the go at the moment.... cant wait to see what its like!

I'll be chopping my diesel low in a few weeks (week 13 or 14) but dont expect it to finish before 12 weeks from seed.

dear sir ,
i find that folks can be a bit snottty about autos .
i think that as you say , swiftness from seed , and the sort of inbetween ness of the way you can flower them whilst youre vegging sometning else/better means they arent to be sniffed at.
i wish you all the best of british bro

Thanks.
Maybe if I only had the one chamber, auto would be too much hassle with timing.
The other chamber is just a cubby hole (old small uncustomized drobe, with a light in, but all of the past veggers seem to have liked it in there, so long as I keep it warm enough.

I don't know enough to diss those who say lowryder has more drawbacks.
I accept the possibility of weaker smokes, but hey, its better than nothing, while waiting for my jack herers innit.
There's nothing on at the minute, as the whole room needs a big sort out, before any more ventures can be started.

With my absence of attention span, I keep getting lost in any results I do when I search. (get into reading other related stuff - growdiaries, other strains, etc etc, you know what its like?) so am unlucky with finding specific pointers from the search engine.

Is anyone, therefore, able to link me to any general threads /posts on these forums, for newbies to lowryders please?
I would really appreciate that.

Thanks in advance.
