Full Version: Pinning cloned plugs into vertical slabs + watering

I'm planning on making a self-build hydro system
and from there hopefully a vertical system -
and I would be grateful for a pointer or two.

When I have established vegged clones in small rockwool
plugs how can I pin those plugs into a vertical rockwool slab
before the clones roots establish themselves into their new home?
I'm imagining maybe a large staple/clip type thing?

Also how would I feed water to each plant in a vertical grow, please?
Would I just push a 4mm line feed near the stem 1 inch below the surface?

Thanks for stopping by - I appreciate it!

Cocktail sticks or similar should do the job.

If its in slabs as your topic title suggests then you feed from the top down through the slabs. A pump driven drip emitter or similar feed line would work.
leepy
why not lay em on a table till the clones have rooted right into it then you wont have pin em in mucka

Hi

Because that introduces another step in the process.

I was concerned that the dripper/feed system permeates throughout the whole of the slab
but the answers given reassure that pinning it in place and feeding it from the top will work.

cheers guys!
