Somewhere back in the late 70's/early 80's I ran across couple of ounces of Acapulco Gold. It was the best looking, best smelling, best tasting pot I've ever had, very powerful high. And that was it, never saw it again....
Been smoking dealer weed for ages and have given it up for growing my own(so I havent had the chance to sample any of the hybrids floating around.
Is their any strain of the old Gold left? Or whats the closest thing now?(I have just planted some Power Skunk & Skunk Haze).
Any thoughts would be appreciated.....

dr greenthumb used to sell acapulco gold seeds, but now sells it's crossed with haze as golden haze. maybe worth asking about pure pulco gold seeds. i strongly recommend the golden haze!! just took my first harvest of it and it's defo in the running for my favourite strain ever!!

Look for Apple Pie from Reeferman, it's Acapulco Gold x Highland Nepalese. Consider making f2's and looking for an AG pheno.
And Reeferman does have a population of Acapulco Gold, said on his forum, before it went down, that he had grown them out to make selections for the current crop of Apple Pie, as well as future AG generations. Of course, it's not for sale...yet, RM has released quite a bit of his key breeding stock.

I've got the same seeds - feminised though. Have you got any pics of your grow up? Could I have a look? How far into your grow are you? Really looking forward to getting my hands on the finished product as I've heard around that Colombian Gold is some awesomely strong stuff (back in the day at least).
