Firstly I'd like 2 hay hi 2 everyone @ uk420. I Registered a bit ago but this is my 1st post. Anywayz.....

Basically I want 2 get something on the go which is a big yielder, but @ the same time I dnt want 2 compromise on quality 2 much. I'm aware of claims made by certain seed companys about certain strains regarding the yields but I'd like 2 hear wot strains you guys would reccomend from experience? I know that serious seeds chronic is supposed 2 yield 500 - 600 g/psm. And another strain called re-con (cant remember which seed company) that's supposed 2 yield 600 g/psm +

Any suggestions guys? & would be nice 2 get feedback from someone who's grown re-con, cus im thinkin bout gettin it myself.

Thx 4 the quick response guys. biggrin.gif

Hello mate and welcome to 420!! I have grown serious seeds chronic and igot to say it does give you the yield in a big way but I think IMO that the taste was abit bland but the resin was alright and it smoked okay. The buds are thick and take a long time to dry and it needs a good 10 weeks!! Personally I think that there are better out there like Dutch passions power plant which IMO had it all yield, taste and smell!! Also mandala seeds hashberry which is alright and well give you what you need with taste and smell!! Any way hope this helps?? spliff.gif

Yeah Ive smoked PP b4 & it was quite tasty, I thought it had a rosey kinda taste. Nice. I have a contender there I think. Cheers stretch

Just my 2p but hashberry doesn't tick any boxes..its not a big yeilder and is a poor smoke imo...very dull indeed.

Can't help with heavy yeilding strains specifically but I would say that learning to grow well is probably the best way to bigger yeilds rather than genetics...of course certain strains yeild better per se but I'd personally concentrate on growing the best I can before looking for particularly big yeilding strains biggrin.gif

As Withnail says, if you're new to growing, just buy a few packets of cheap seeds and learn the basics to start with. Generally, the stats given on seed company websites for yield, thc content, etc shouldn't be taken literally, they are an indication of what is possible if grown by professionals in ideal environments. Your best bet, rather than seeking a high yeilding strain, imho, is to get the hang of taking cuttings/cloning, which will, if set up right, keep you well supplied for quite some time. Look for a few SoG diaries (Sea of Green) as well as the strain talk, you could be harvesting every two weeks for example.

The thing to remember about cannabis is that there's so many different strains, which so many different folks have so many different opinions of. As my dear old granny used to say, it's a case of suck it and see, I'm afraid (her question was "what's the difference between an elephant's arse and a lemon?"). ATB

lol.gif I thought they were like 39.65% of statistics - made up on the spot?

For a first grow, something like Northern Lights is suitable. Seeing a donkey dick cola grow way thicker than your biceps is sort of impressive during your first grow. smile.gif

Of course nothing is perfect. Single cola strains need to remain as single colas and if you have humidty problems in late flower you'll probably be digging out a handful or 2 of bud suffering from either mould or powdery mildew as I did but what the hey...there was plenty left. Close to a gram a watt from 4 plants under a 400w hps after binning the bad stuff. Not that suitable for cloning but will give you a party killer stone and plenty of it.

From the 2nd grow onwards, it's about logistics imo, not much else matters. The correct number of plants getting the correct amount of veg time etc. and you end up with a harvest that could not be fuller. Attentive growing can get you 2oz per square foot with any strain bar the known low yielders. Don't expect that to happen straight away though.

I'm 3 weeks into flowering with DNA Recon at the moment Rogue. They put on a pretty good stretch for the first 2 weeks, but seem to be calming down after I tied them down lol.gif The buds are forming nicely and look like they could be real heavy yielders 60.gif I'm also growing DNA Sharksbreath which I really like. Really nice shape and vigour to the plant. I'll get some pics up when they're a bit further in thumbsupsmileyanim.gif
smoketilluchoke

I got 171grams from a 4ft OG cheese plant last crop. They love a bit of bending, topped or strait yield about the same to.
If you do grow em strait? Try chopping the very top off as you put em into 12/12. Sometimes as many as 10 main colas rofl.gif

You might like TH Seeds' Heavy Duty Fruity then, it tends to split into quite a few decent sized colas, has a fruity flavour/aroma and isn't a bad smoke either. Just a suggestion mind. smile.gif

Yea i grew sum DP strawberry cough a while ago. they all went hermie on me & I ended up with 4 different pheno's, so not very stable! But 2 be fair 2 of those pheno's were very nice. The nicest 1 was a poor yielder, aint that always the way?

chronic is great, dont feed her to much shes sensitive and if you burn she never recover, take time drying it, well easy to lose her smell if you rush the drying, but if done right awsome, check out prawns diarys hes nailed it with the chronic, good smoke aswell, all serios seeeds r 20% thc +.
elnino, if you can findd the right pheno, easy to grow ,knock out stone, small buds but they way like bricks that shits soild
