Alright lads, cheers for the help with the soil!

I decide do go back to b&q ...i found the big bags of westlands outside!! 75l for 7 quid....not bad, the problem is - well i think it may be a problem, is that when i was filling the new pots i realised the soil was very cold as it had been stored outside.

should i leave them in their pots for a couple of hours to let the soil heat up a bit.....or is it ok to just go ahead and pot up?

I know the babies dont like cold soil so i was thinking they wouldnt like to be potted up into cold soil, they might catch a cold

what yous think, pot up or wait to heat up?

Water them with warm water once repotted they'll be fine. If you want to be extra cautious rest the bag against a hot rad for a while b4 repotting

alright highguy mate...emmmm iv kind already put the soil in all the pots ready for the babies

the soil is quite cold mate, i think the water would need to be hot to heat this stuff up!!

im not in any hurry....should i just leave the pots lying for a wee while in a warm room...or use hot water ?

Im 4 weeks in 2morrow , dont want to fk them up at this last pot up.

Just leave the soil in the pots for a few hours and carry on.

If I were you I would pot up now and soak the compost with nice warm water once repotted, they'll be fine mate

If i was you i would warm the soil up first any rads that you could put tthe pots on for a while. it aint worth risking doing them in at this stage.

thanks 4 quick replies.....got a plan. Iv left them in pots....with a 2k air heater trained on them. Gonna leave them for half an hour n start repotting....with warm water but not hot

all this reppotting stuff is hard work....im gonna look into hydro i think where i won't need to repot.....i know i know, im a lazy b****rd!


I'll be updating my diary 2morrow ...i'll let you know how they reacted then
