as the question says......which would any of u guys n gals go for given the option?

also if i was to do a lot of LST and had a strain such as white widow for example and it was a successful grow......what sort of dry yield could one expect from such a small grow area.....and im presuming i would be best off using CFLs.......

u have to be more specific

example:
9 square foot,
400 hps bulb,
magnetic ballast,
medium : allmix
feed: standard biobizz feeding schedule
heating mats for rootzone , 400m3 extraction,
temps between 19 and 24 celcius
humidity continuously @ 55%
ur strain is not a big cropper though..
i would get a K2 (nirvana) or a tight indica bud like AFGHANI #1
such setup would possiblu do you 10 or more Oz

Hi, i recently got a 80x80x160 Darkroom. Its a lot better quality than the budbox.
I'm using a 250w hps with a 4inch fan and phat filter. Temps are a little cold if anything, im hoping to get around 200g from 3 plants in there.. Don't bother with Cfl for flowering, tried it their crap. Hope this helps.

If you do want a pretty good yield i would forget the cfls, like solar says you can use a hid in these size tents. I think with a decent extractor you could get away with a 400 in a dr80. Although a 250hps will provide shed loads of bud anyway.

What is the maximum size tent you can use?

kc - i was looking at getting the 60 x 60 x 140cm darkroom grow tent........will this be ok to house hps lights, i feel it could get too hot......

again i know its a rubbish question but what sort of yield could i expect, if to say i was to use a heavy yielding strain - if its grown well could i expect something in the ball park of say 5 or 6 oz.........advice please i wanna know what size to go for.......i smoke loads, dont wanna have to spend half the time seeing the dealer......

If you're a heavy smoker bud then i would try and use something a little bigger, especially if you are just using one tent for vegging and flowering.

I think hudson did a 250watt grow in a dr60 using a cooltube so it is possible if thats the route you want to go down. 5 ounces should be easy enough to pull off i'd say. The only problem i see with that tent is the height though, but like you say if you are prepared to lst then you should be able to get away with it.

Personally the way i see it is if you are prepared to grow then make sure you can get enough to last you, it's pointless doing if you will still be needing to buy off dealer. Not really a good thing to be doing when you have a grow on at home either. Imagine you got caught which led the police back to your house, that would be your grow busted too

The cost between starting up a dr60 with a 250watt and the cost of say a dr100 with a 400 wouldn't be too much different, much better to not have to spend out twice when you realise your setup doesn't get you enough smoke to last you.

will look at starting this project perhaps a tad larger, so, as u say it would be silly to have to upgrade after realising potential yields are not large enuff....

p.s. can a complete moron like myself set this lot up, or am i gonna have to find someone to help me with the electrics (reflector, ballasts lights, fans etc etc) or is it fairly easy once its in front of you? im not that confident at electrics n stuff.......

I have the dr240w and it was easy to put together took no more than 30 mins the instruction are easy to follow and if not sure look at the picture and figure it out from there, they are a good build quality too.

In terms of lights etc they are easy too, and if you get stuck on any of it uk420 is your friend

I grow in a 70x100x100 budbox with a 400W HPS & 2x200W Enviros all with a 4" intake & exhaust & a 6" fan blowing on HPS and can manage approx. 5 plants with 2-3 oz off each.

problem is keeping it cool in summer but decent intake & extraction help

You dont get budboxes that size.

How you can run 800 watts of light in a space of that size with 4" extractor and a 4" inlet is beyond me cause i've tried it in a bigger space with just a 400W and it was still to hot.

Im in a similiar boat to you, so ill just ask here.

Ive got the 70 x 70 x100 CM budbox, currently with 4 x125 Enviros (2 blue, 2red). I use passive intake (in a loft).

Could someone tell me how this idea sounds, if its worth me putting it into practise.

So with a tent height of 3 feet, would it be possible to put a (diamond reflector or cooltube) 250hps in there? I would use the enviro's for veg.

What would be the best grow method? With scrog, im not quite sure how it works, do i top the plant in veg several times whilst its under the screen? If i did that, what would happen?

I was thinking scrogging 3 female (indica dom.) plants with this method.

The extraction i have is S&P TD-160/100 N Silent (i have no idea what that means, just what it says on the box). Is that sufficient extraction for a 250hps? I have 1 6" clip on fan. Maybe another one would be needed?

Any comments or wrong doings would be appreciated!

sorry i meant 70x70x100...
max temps are 28 lights on or 17-18 lights off.

tbh the enviros are rather low heat and add maybe 1-2 degrees each to the total. the challenge was getting rid of the heat in the first place. the 4" fans are both very strong and there is a 6" clip on fan cooling the 400W HPS. the plants proper love the massive amount of light.

The room where the tent is, is also a good deal cooler than you'd think. max. temp for the ROOM the box is in is 19 so keeping intake cool helps as well.

i have a similar fan as an intake and am sure would work ok for a 250W HPS, just be sure to have an active intake as well as a good extraction fan.
