Hey

Have been lurking amogst the boards for a while now dreaming about growing.

Finally myself and a freind have decided to ditch the dealer and handing them our hard earned money, and start up a small grow!

We have a 5ft tall cuboard under the stairs, not too large but not too small. Figured it is a good size for a first grow.

I have a few questions that i would like to ask: -

1. What sort of light and wattage would be best for the space?
2. Do i need extreaction and intake via the wall to the outside or can i take it from inside?
3. We want a Tasty Sativa with a kick, and will not be too big for our grow room, any suggestions?
4. Which is the best soil + nutes to get us started?
5. Any chance of a list of basic things i will definatly need to get?
6. Any tips or info that you wish you knew when you first started out?

Thanks in advance for usefull replys smoke.gif

Welcome to Uk420 noxhit.

Your space sounds almost exactly like mine, under the stairs and 5 feet tall. I use a 400w HPS and get great results for that size area, you could even go 600w if you had enough ventilation. Get a good multi-purpose compost and a lot of people on here recommend bio-bizz bio grow.

Just be patient and don't overwater the plants.

Happy growing.

Well, I did a lot of reading on the Knowledge base here - it's a great start

http://www.uk420.com/boards/index.php?auto...o&showcat=2

and then I discovered I hadn't remembered as much as I had hoped
so I have re-read it again and again as well as literally scouring the
SEARCH function on these forums.

Often a question has been asked before, and it's often quicker to
read these than to wait for replies. However, I'm sure the good folk
here will always help out where they can - it's an amazingly resourceful
community (thanks, guys!).

What I wished I'd known earlier?
Even at this early stage it is to cut myself some slack, to know I am
going to make (expensive) mistakes. For example, keep a plant/cutting safe
in another area in case you lose the others somehow, etc etc.

The only way to learn is to read, read, read some more and ask loads of
questions! It's a great way to learn and what a product! lol.gif

Good luck, happy growing!
